Also, Shigeto > Will Sessions & Amp Fiddler Saturday seem like a better choice than the shit on your schedule you’ve probably already seen before. Especially Will Sessions.

thanks for the suggestion. looks like Andres is on the Stargate Stage during Patrick Russell and Eris Drew. I'll step away from the Underground stage to check out his set. and will sessions & amp fiddler are at RBMA which is an easy stage to get to, so I'll check them out too after a little bit of anthony parasole.
for some reason i feel a lot less pressure to catch full sets at movement, something about it makes me feel fine just walking around and seeing what catches my ear.

Am I the only one who can't stand Seth Troxler, Loco Dice, or The Martinez Brothers? Their sets are just so generic and flatlined imo. Like gorblata said, its just fucking high hats for hours at a time.

here you go. a little something to help you fall asleep.
it's not just the monotony, it's also that it lacks any oomph at all. feels like it was intended to be listened to from a cell phone speaker and not a club with massive speakers.

I think b2bs beyond two DJs tend to get a bit messy and unfocused. Detroit Love at Coachella was the notable exception.

Usually you have a weak link in b2b2b+ sets. Detroit Love didn't have one. I'd argue Belleville Three were the same way last year too, but some other people didn't enjoy them as much as I did.

I can't tell if you are kidding but yeah they kinda all suck. Troxler is just a douche too.

How is he a douche?
His twitter is a pretty solid example of it. His most recent tweets on Cardi B are pretty telling. Also watch literally any interview he's in he comes off as a total pretentious asshole. He had some tweet saying how soul-less music has become the other day meanwhile he's playing the most cookie cutter tech-house sets out there lol.

I did not enjoy Belleville Three that much last year sadly, just didnt flow well; however, the Four Tet b2b Daphni b2b Floating Points set was spec-fuckin'-tacular.

Agreed on both accounts. I hope Four Tet returns to Coachella next year with his live set.

Ehhh, I dunno, it seemed like to me every damn time Floating Points hit the decks, he killed the vibe Four Tet and Daphni were groovin.

I wasn't watching the DJs so I couldnt tell ya who played what but I'm assuming you were annoyed that Floating Points was playing slower Soul and Disco tracks instead of upping the energy more?

I heard that from a lot of people, but I go weekend 2 and thought it was great. I'm not sure if it was sloppier or arranged different for those who went weekend 1. I was way more into their set in Detroit either way though.

I heard they weren't that great weekend 2 either from someone who's taste I trust pretty well but man everyone interprets it differently. And I could imagine the Detroit set would be better simply cuz of location. Also them playing at 330 didnt help haha.

y'all know i'm not trying to rely on a weather forecast this far out, but purely temperature-wise, it will be nice hopefully being in the 70s since we are in the 90s now on the gulf coast.

Just checked my flight itinerary to Detroit for Movement next weekend and I did something I've NEVER done before. I purchased my flight for the DAY BEFORE I needed to be there! So if anyone wants to kick it on THURSDAY when I arrive let me know. I'm so used to festivals being Fri - Sun and booking flights appropriately and it always throws me off that Movement is Saturday - Monday.

not sure if this has changed since they first published the map, but it looks like the pyramid stage is oriented differently this year. It's facing the steps with it's back to the river rather than being perpendicular to the river.
i did notice the change in the RBMA stage when it was first published, I think that is a good change. will have to see the pyramid stage in person.
Seems like a worse alignment for the pyramid stage, no?
yeah i'm unsure about it.
crowds really were a nonissue for me last year at any of the stages, but if I had to choose a least favorite stage in terms of crowding it was the pyramid, but I'm not sure if the new alignment will make that better or worse. the positive side of me thinks the sound when standing to the right of the steps (right of the VIP section) might be better than last year, providing an opportunity for the crowd to spread out there a bit.

King Tuff is playing El Club, if that’s your thing

I remember the Pyramid Stage getting pretty crowded in 2016. It's also a bummer you won't be able to see much of the water now.

I dont see a change with RBMA stage? Looks the same as it always has.
And pyramid stage is a cluster any way you turn it as long as its in that corner. There's just not enough sq ft for the crowd it pulls, and its a major pain in the ass to get equipment and staff backstage. If I had to take a guess, they turned it due to sound complaints across the river in Windsor or down river.
