Brady won those Super Bowls because he’s the goat not because he took a pay cut
I don't think that's what supre was saying though. He wasn't overpriced in New England, and they had a completely different and very effective take on draft picks - essentially piling them up and trading every year into the future. With him at a relative bargain price and not-quite-washed-up superstars wanting to win a title, they never had trouble getting in the older stars who wanted a shot to compete for a super bowl. And they won a bunch of them too.
how you're spending the money outside of QB matters a lot too
like id 1000% rather have Mahomes and a wr from this class than not have Mahomes and keep Tyreek
if you pay the QB a lot you need to find value guys and draft really well, a lot of success in the Patriot years rode on that
like the Packers in 2020 could've had tee Higgins or Michael Pittman instead of Jordan Love, and then they draft AJ Dillon and turn around and give Jones and extension
it's fine taking swings on a guy like Hill or Adams if you've got a QB on a rookie deal but the 30mil QB is worth way more than the 20mil wr

Do y'all think this is going to work out for the dolphins? Tyreek and Waddle is a solid combo and Gesicki not bad. Upgrading the line. I guess this will be Tua's prove it year if he can stay healthy

Yeah I dont think he was that in the dark considering cleveland created a slush fund to ensure he got all his money. Nfl def gonna think of a way to get at that money cause theyll look pretty stupid if he gets suspended half the season and it affects absolutely zero. Calvin Ridley lost $10 mil for making some bets on an app, watson needs to lose a bit more for all this.

They can just put him on the commissioner's exempt list until all of the civil suits are resolved and then suspend him.

They didnt even do that this whole time which is telling. The nfl let Houston put him on pseudo IR last season. And exempt list allows you to collect salary still. They have to find a way to make him lose some of that $230 mil.

They didn't have to do anything because he wasn't going to play for Houston. If they don't have to do anything, the league won't.
Now that he's prepared to play for Cleveland they can pay him $55K per week not to play until the situation is resolved and then hand down a suspension. If the suspension goes into 2023, it'll be much more expensive for him.
Yeah, but can he stay healthy at that position either? I don't know. Taysom should probably be a fullback, but he'd probably get hurt even more often. That means it's going to be Winston > Book, Winston > Draft Pick, or Winston > Someone else with Taysom probably as emergency. Not wild about re-signing Tre'Quan, but it was 2 years, 6 million. Maybe he'll get 40 catches this year?
