Haha. Not this year. If we still had Coach Payton, I would in a heartbeat even though Allen stood in as HC for that 9-0 shutout last year. OTOH, Saints opened up at 7.5 O/U wins. We have a really hard schedule, but I think we should get the over.
Fuck Snyder though. He’s a full on fucking meat. I probably wouldn’t even hate that team if he didn’t own it. Prick.
We re-signed P.J. Williams today. I’m really glad he still wants to play. He’s a top 5 Saint for me whenever he is on the roster. Oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh.
Also we apparently signed DL Jaleel Jackson from the Texans. We like to rotate defensive linemen so hopefully he will do well. Also I’m blocked because I’m not paying, but Nick Underhill said we are straight up going conservative on the cap. Haha. While we have a good team, we always had some future reckoning. If they can get that shit out of the way, we should remain competitive into the next several years. It’s great when your team is generally a winner. [tm]
I think the thing w Snyder is that Washington is a low key super valuable franchise, it's definitely low morals and greed but I get from a business perspective why someone like sterling and a mid level valued team got replaced so easy and Snyder wasn't, but I can't imagine even w Snyder that after the last couple years of stories that Washington cracks top 10 again
We build through the lines pretty often. We get quality linemen elsewhere besides the first (Armstead). But I don’t ever have a problem with grabbing someone who is going to start 5-10 years regardless of it not being a sexy type pick. Since we drafted DE Cam Jordan In 2011, we got two years with no picks, Mark Ingram, Kenny Vaccaro, Marshon Lattimore, Brandin Cooks, Stephone Anthony (a bust) but also Sheldon Rankins, Ryan Ramczyk, Cesar Ruiz (jury still out) Peyton Turner and Marcus Davenport. We usually have good lines though a bunch of injuries last year on the online were consequential.
IMO, unless you're landing a stud LT then your investment is better elsewhere. QB,WR,CB,DE. That elite talent is super expensive so you get it cost controlled for four years with a fifth year option and then you can kick the can down the road with a franchise tag if you need to.
even more reason to root against the saints next year
Well you won’t find a lot of people cheering for the eagles here or anywhere else besides the Philadelphia metro. And Suprefan’s house. Y’all are in good company!
Those 4 picks gonna be really interesting. Still glad philly is at 15.
We ain't tanking - not intentionally anyway. We'll probably grab our new starting-left-tackle-for-the-next-decade and Chris Olave WR from tOSU back to back - unless we're looking to package these picks to move up farther for a specific quarterback or something. Also, knowing we're primed for a run likely at least to the playoffs, we must also be aware of whatever we will do in the next 3 years with Coach Sean Payton's contract. We'll get at least 2 #1's out of that from Dallas or whomever. That would be one reason to jump the line now.
I was telling my father-in-law a week ago that I wanted the Saints to add Tyrann Matheiu, re-sign Kwon Alexander, and re-sign PJ Williams. And then in the draft, I was hoping we'd grab an OT in the first like Trevor Penning and a WR in the second round.
Since then, they've re-signed PJ and now this move with Phillie to give the Saints 2 top 20 picks and 3 total top 50 picks. I'm still hoping they go WR and OT with 16 and 19, maybe get a DT or TE with the 49th pick. I think prior to the PJ signing they were over $19M under cap, so there's still room to grow
