I haven’t lived in it but I follow it. I just don’t see the Cowboys outside of a freak season for the worse not winning the division again. If Rodgers stays in Green Bay, Green Bay and Dallas seem the most likely NFC division winners. I actually don’t think y’all suck and should contend for a playoff spot again.
Just saying. Dallas can look as good as they want on paper and it still wont matter cause its the NFC East and we expect random shit to happen.

Whether or not Stafford will get in is one question. In my opinion he definitely should not for most of the reasons Richard Sherman is rightly pointing out. One Pro Bowl and never an all pro.
The most important thing to me is that he's never been a consistent top 5 guy at his position at any stretch of his career. There has always been some combination of Brady / Peyton / Rodgers / Brees / Ben / Mahomes in his way. Those should be the Hall Of Famers, not him. Stafford is classic Hall of Very Good stuff.

Good points, but I'm not sure he won't be able to pull it off. No way he could beat out Brees, Rodgers and randomly good in a given year other NFC QB's when he was with the Lions. But he's put up some incredible numbers for someone who still may have several years left to go. In my mind, the jury is out on him and could go either way depending on what happens the rest of his career.

Speaking of Dallas
Oof. I certainly understand his desire, but one has to wonder with that type of payout if he hid some cameras or shaved his legs and painted his toenails and hung out in a shower stall or something.
I understand your point about volatility in winning the division. We had a similar issue in the NFC South which was the last division to have a repeating champion taking 11 years to get the first repeat. Eventually those trends change. Starting from 2002 and realignment:
Tampa Carolina Atlanta Tampa Saints Tampa Carolina Saints Falcons Saints Falcons Panthers Panthers Panthers Falcons Saints Saints Saints Saints Saints Tampa

yeah to be clear I’m saying as of right now. If he randomly becomes one of the 5 best qbs in the league for the next 6 years I’d change my mind.
Brown was rumored for Rams' OC. The Rams may end up grabbing the Kentucky OC, who has worked for/with McVay previously. Fingers crossed McVay retires, I guess.
If McVay was retiring, I'd think the Rams would have tried harder to keep O'Connell

Curious what you guys think about Philip Rivers HOF chances? 8x Pro Bowler (no All-Pros), 5th all time passing TDs and 5th all time passing yards. Obviously no Super Bowls. When comparing him to other HOF QBs with no rings, he leads them all in most stats but has played in an era very friendly to QBs. Wasn't really ever the best or second best at his position at any period, but the Chargers organization didn't give him a ton of favors in the last 10 or so years of his career.
I definitely don't think he's a first ballot, but I do think he will make it in at some point unless this new group of guys catches his all-time stats before he can get in

Stats now need to be the baseline for getting in the conversation, and then the things that elevate you to BOF status have to be how you compared to your peers. Stafford, not a HOF (yet, maybe he could become one but I doubt it). Rivers, not a HOF.

We are retaining Pete Carmichael as OC, so no change there and likely a continuation of utilizing part-time QB Taysom Hill to partially thwart aggressive defenses. It looks like we will be a 12 win team playing a 8 or 9 win schedule :/
