CBS cited a report that the Pack has offered Rodgers what the report termed market-altering money to stay. Mahomes is the highest paid QB averaging about $45MM/season, but it's a long term contract since he's only 26 whereas Rodgers is 38 and not likely to play for a 10 year term. So whether they're willing to pay him $50MM/year for a shorter contract is unknown unless they leak that later or if he signs off on the contract.

Idk how the Cowboys cap stuff will shake out. I've heard wildly different reports about how much money Gallup's getting. Anywhere from 6/ to like twice that. I really want to keep Amari. He's such a badass.
NFL has enough integrity problems with their terrible officiating. I understand the perceived conflict of interest as many players have friends across the league and could go rogue on influencing games to make money. But he didn't even play last year and had stepped away from the game. Maybe the violations were prior?

The leagues letter on it states it was all in a five day period in November 2021. Gambling on league games is just seen as such a serious offense that I'm not surprised they took it to him.
Also, he did a couple parlay bets that included the Falcons to win which is just dumb on his part.
Am I the only one who thinks it’s a little extreme to ban him for a year for betting when he wasn’t even with the team? Like obviously a dumb decision but it feels like they just want to make an example out of him.

Yeah, he's being made an example of, but I get it. A year seems fine. Don't know the specifics of his bets or anything but he has inside knowledge of the league. They have to be hard on stuff like this. If he were playing they might have banned him for life.

There was a guy in 2019 who was suspended for gambling but I'd never heard of him - Josh Shaw I think. So there's precedent and also CBA language apparently.

I get it, just feels weird that people have gotten less for domestic violence

Betting on games is a huge problem for players, it has to be treated this way.
Domestic violence is awful, and Roger did that to himself by deciding it needed to be punished at work. I don't disagree with Danbob point that it feels icky.

Yeah he played at USC and was decent. Mid round pick when he came out but didnt do much at all.
The nfl is still fucked up since they are hypocrites when it comes to the gambling and stuff. They dont classify fantasy football as gambling since theyre neck deep with the sports book and have their own channel for it. I get as to why this had to happen, but if youre banning a player for a year, whats the punishment for owners telling coaches to tank games on purpose, that has gambling implications in its own right.
And who knows how many players might have burner accounts and all that set up to bet on themselves. Its entirely possible.

reports that falcons were turning down offers for Ridley because they knew the situation, so they've been building a case for a while but how did they find out?
