How shitty they are on social media has given me pause about even going this year
The total lack of communication even after selling tickets, earlier this week when they put a fan on blast for asking where the festival even his, their seeming disdain for everyone that isn’t an Instagram influencer, shutting down comments when everyone asked why they booked a bunch of Nazi adjacent bands last year
I’m also a member of the muddy roots Facebook group and by contrast the organizer of that is super transparent, constantly engaging with the community, quick to respond to questions, looks for band suggestions from fans, etc. definitely going to keep an eye on their lineup this year as they’ve had some killer lineups in the past

Also last year I saw a guy with a high-level all access wristband and a staff badge walking around with this shirt on, and I have no idea what he does for the festival but it tracks with everything else they do

It’s doubtful I can even go this year. I picked up This Ain’t No Picnic tickets for that very reason.
They’ve been doing the comment deleting for years now. They’ve even gone as far as to block people who just as questions that they deem critical of the festival. Kinda bullshit.
I feel like someone from Muddy Roots joined the board and started hyping the festival when everyone else was shutting down at the beginning of the pandemic. Giving the benefit of doubt as they didn’t realize how serious it was. Lineups are always fun and has made my wishlist several times.
tbh, I don't see any difference from Psycho social media team to Riot Fest (that everyone loves) who routinely shit on people on their Twitter. Psycho are getting a ton of crap so they are just embracing the hate lately by rolling with it. There are plenty of other reasons to hate on them like for example how they screw over bands so they need to expand whose available while people think they are 'curveballs' then this nonsense.

the difference is riot fest has built a brand of being snarky, and actively engages fans in their posts
Psycho turned off comments on all platforms when they were called out for booking Nazis and never turned them back on
A little insider info. The festival is moving from Mandalay Bay to Resorts World this year. Not sure when they're going to officially announce it though.

that fucking sucks if true, honestly
Also makes no sense for their actual audience
I know they want to think their audience is glamorous influencers but it’s just not the reality of who they attract with their lineups

Someone sniffed out some hidden website banners in their website directory that has the Resorts World logo below the Psycho logo, so assuming this isn't a troll job by the organizers (wouldn't put it past them) I have a good feeling that's where it's going to be. Also not excited, but hey at least rooms in Circus Circus next door will be cheap.

Doesn't do as much for me as past years, but I already knew we would be sitting-out this year. Best of luck to all who are going, and hopefully it works out well at Resorts World!
They kept the main 3 for me (Ulver, 'Fate, and Emperor). Everything else is just extra. She Past Away replaced Kælan Mikla which is a lateral move. Both great acts. Midnight and Starcrawler for the pre-show is going to be a blast. I'll never understand people still wanting to see Bone Thugs in 2022. That'll be an easy skip.
If there are truly over 120 acts performing then this is actually only about half of them. Hoping for some other big names in the next drop(s), as well as a few more death metal bands.

this reminds me of last year when the festival was going on there was a plethora of butt pics and videos from attendees shared on their instagram stories. like more so of that than live show footage or pictures. i wanted to see how the sets were on a year i couldn't go but instead i got to look at ass on an app where you can literally find that anywhere

The people who run the social media and marketing side of the festival are so tone-deaf it's comical. They still don't have a lineup poster and there's no lineup page on their website, and instead of actually promoting any artists whatsoever their Instagram spent 72 hours after the lineup release following around an influencer and his bimbo through the hotel while they lived lavishly in a penthouse suite. At this point I honestly think they're opening mocking their actual customer base because they think it's funny.

Don't forget Chessboxing with GZA
Chess is the game of kings, a strategic battle that exposes ordinary folk as masters of dueling. Wu Tang Clan’s devotion to the game is no more evident than in the band’s resident genius, GZA, who for one day, lets you sit across the board for a game. Chessboxing with GZA is the opportunity to watch the master work so you can learn the way of the Wu. He’ll be competing against artists, special guests, and a few lucky fans in battles so mind expanding only Psycho could contain them.

It is crazy expensive. We booked our room onsite and it was about $800~ for 4 nights, with the same rooms now going for $1200~.
Luckily, Circus Circus is pretty close and about half the price I paid for the same amount of nights right now. Festival passes have really gone up tho, almost $450 I think it is now vs closer to $350 in the last few years.

Kinda considering this for my bachelor party, but probably just one day. Hoping they drop the daily lineups soon (last year was end of May it looks like)
This is definitely a festival that greatly benefits getting in on earlybird pricing and booking a room as soon as the venue is announced. My festival pass was $250 and I scored a 2 queen room at the Resorts Room Hilton for about $650 after resort fees, which I'll split with my buddy. I fucking love this full lineup, too, so I couldn't be much happier.
