ill be there this year. keinemusik in the US is must see
what are the pros/cons of the festival? starting to look into costs. assuming staying near the venue is the best idea? other odds and ends worth keeping top of mind?

Pros:
Miami is very vibrant city with many things going on, not just the festival. If you add a few days before or after the festival, you'll have a good time. Great food and coffee all around the city.
The fest is at night going late into the early morning. And that isn't including after parties. If you are trying to extract as much party as possible, you can easily get 20 hours a day.
Miami is HUGE. Including FTL. You won't have trouble finding a place to stay. Never heard of hotels selling out.
Music curation is one of the best. Not too niche and not too mainstream. The attendees are very chill, and anyone would find it hard to feel out of place.
Cons:
Miami is HUGE. If you don't know where to stay, you might find yourself taking 30-40 minute ubers back and forth from your hotel/airbnb.
Miami weather is unpredictable. Previous III Points have been cancelled due to hurricanes. 2021 had showers on-and-off constantly throughout Friday night. Be prepared.
While staying near the festival is nice, be aware that surrounding areas of Wynwood and Downtown can get ugly quick. If you stay near by and are thinking about walking, consult a resident.

It’s weird to see a lineup without Black Coffee after the last two years. I feel with the 2nd phase it’ll look a lot better with more heavy hitters, especially if Dj Shadow and Summit are in it.
I would say best bang for your buck would be design district. You'll have to uber from the festival but it won't be too far. Design district has some awesome restaurants and is minutes from Wynwood and Downtown/Brickell.
Some alternatives depending on preferences:
Miami Beach: Pricer but if you're into the beach, you're only a few minutes walking. But depending on the day, transit from MB into inland Miami can be a hassle.
Brickell/Downtown: Pricer but a very safe bet. You can get around much easier here on public transit than any other part of Miami. Metromover is free.
Wynwood: If all you want is fest and back, this will be the place. Airbnbs get expensive here for the fest. If you do want a place here, look East of the fest rather than West. Edgewater area.
Anything besides these locations will require a car just to eat. Miami as a whole is not walkable.

If the undercard is better than last year then I consider this a huge win. Finally a set of headliners I haven’t seen. Really excited for the next wave.
Fred was pretty obvious considering his lack of Miami dates. If he wasn’t on this lineup I was ready to say he was intentionally skipping Miami. As time passed he became too big for any venue in Miami and III Points/Ultra became the only fits.
I would love to see Danny Brown and JPEG make it onto the lineup, but they just announced that they’re playing Revolution Live together in August.

i only went last year so i have a fairly limited experience to go off of but the age of the crowd seemed to skew early-20s and everyone seemed fairly chill. definitely saw a lot of pissed off people whenever the crowds got hard to walk through but no fights or anything like that
isnt Despacio only at festivals when James Murphy and/or 2manyDJs are performing? I don't think I've ever seen it at a fest when they weren't on the lineup and LCD was here last year. I guess the hope is 2manyDJs/soulwax?
The vibes were off hard last year. It was giving Hialeah, but in the worst way... At least around the Mind Melt stage and the 'Outer Space' stage that I believe was just a last year thing.
It's normally not like that tho. And I was really enjoying the vibe around S3QUENC3 while I was there. Hopefully this year it will return to form.
