Yikes, ticket looked like a decent value ($249.00 + $53.65 in fees.) However, camping is $265 + 32.79 in fees. Nuts.
Camping is super tight at the venue, and it always sells out. They won't have a problem selling even at the nutty costs - Hotels are where it's at for the city and this area in particular.

I told my mom about my favorite singer Alanis Morissette, who will be there this September. And she said “After Coachella and also after Danya and Martin’s wedding” and she told me that.

Having done their camping previously (don't think it was $300)...the camping it is on the approach path of their airport and UPS is landing every 45 seconds until late into the night. Opting for Air B&B this time.
“Hotel row” is right near the grounds- 13” walk from our hotel in 2019 to inside the fest. Can’t beat it. If we hadn’t purchased SeaHearNow tix (same weekend) we’d be back.
Solid lineup! I hope we get a little more notice next year on dates and lineup.
anyone know the VIP set up for main stage viewing - is it at the front middle of off to the sides? This thing is my jam
So, there's 2 separate ones - The cheaper VIP has seating/bleachers to the left of the stages. It's elevated, and honestly a really nice view if you don't care about being close. Bathroom and bar like 2 minutes away. The expensive VIP has the up front standing area, that pretty much guarantees you front row to anyone and everyone. Less accessible to amenities, but good if you want that up close. To get a similar spot in GA, you have to camp basically all day.
EDIT: They updated this year to have ALL VIP be able to access front of stage areas, looks like.
I’ve heard mixed reviews for this festival. Anyone have any insight into why?
It's a soulless Festival with no character. Two big stages, side-by-side and the rest of the fest is bourbon and food. They allow camping chairs - never a good sign. Nothing much else to it. However, the sound system is very good, there are big screens for viewing, and they have great merch. If the lineup speaks to you go, but there is little else that is memorable or remarkable about the fest itself.

Bourbon = soul though. I’m kind of excited to fuck around in Louisville since I haven’t spent any time there off the interstate. The bourbon list is killer though I don’t know what all we will get for the $1600 since it says ultra premium single barrel is available for purchase.

I was disappointed to see the same set up as last time, tbh. The first two years it was just a small section of VIP and when they made the switch in 2019 my friends and I opted for VIP because we had some bucket list names to see. the pit was hardly ever full-they so could have split the front
2019 version both VIP levels got up front center for both main stages
I asked them if it would be the same set up and they just hit me with a quote from the website “ access to dedicated viewing of a main stage” so it’s prob the same but idk why they wouldn’t just say yes

I mean yeah the festival lacks a certain... character, but that's because they reuse the exact same venue and set up for two other festivals the weekends before/after, so it has to be easily adaptable.
However, if you're into bourbon and food, it's actually a really great festival. During the day/early evening when there wasn't music we cared much for, we went over and listened to the bourbon experts speak and chefs give demos and presentations. In 2019, we got to meet Edward Lee (of Top Chef fame) before his demo and he was super chill.
I think it's nice to go to something that's not just music, music, music and a little more relaxed and easy going. Maybe I'm getting old.

You are but not this old. So is there any food I should be on the lookout for? I know KY does hickory grilled and bbq but I don’t know much else about the food scene.

We ate a lot outside the festival and only once or twice while there but I do remember having some killer fried chicken. And the BBQ was fantastic too.
If you want to eat outside the fest, try Ed Lee's Whiskey Dry for a great upscale pub vibe. The Post in the Germantown neighborhood was a great spot for after the fest for great NY style pizza and local beers.
Think there's any chance they offer a Groupon to this like they did in 2019?
A Groupon?? This lineup is amazing and I love bourbon but it's far too expensive. Do the hotels closeish usually sell out just incase they do reduce the price of tickets.

When they ran the Groupon in 2019, it was an amazing lineup then as well. The Groupon was $99 for a 3-day pass. Upset a bunch of people that bought full priced tickets. Not sure about hotels selling out. I did camping for B&B and did Air BnB for Forecastle.
