I love that Henderson and Las Vegas are both on there because they are basically the same city. Also, random trivia, the Las Vegas Strip is not actually in Las Vegas. It’s in the unincorporated towns of Paradise and Winchester (mostly Paradise), just south of Las Vegas.
Staying on for Houston cuz I doubt there will be any reason I'll ever go in my life!
pride parade in Houston is almost as old as NYCs and had to move from it's historic location because it got too big. it's the biggest pride event in Texas, in the Southwest, and is our 2nd most attended event (behind the rodeo which is more gay friendly than you'd imagine)
we also had an openly gay mayor something NYC hasn't had, they haven't even had a woman. since our last Republican mayor NYC has elected Guliani and Bloomberg to the same position, and two of the recent governor's have been Spritzer and Cuomo.

I appreciate the gay-formation! I only travel for like weddings, destinations, and work.
And yah NYC / NY is still controlled by a lot of $ and assholes who hate women and people who aren’t white! I mean Texas’s governors aren’t exactly allies.
For the record, I don’t go to our big pride march as it’s hella corporate. I’m a Dyke March dyke. *takes a bow*
Did some reflecting yesterday and realized I don’t really hate or dislike any of these cities. I even take back my stated hatred for Milwaukee - it’s all right.
I think we should have stopped after eliminating Charlotte.
What up DC??? (Wouldn’t green space per square mile be a better measure? When your city is the size of Rhode Island I’d hope it’s have a few green spaces.)
feels like Nashville is getting way too much of a pass here
my only ever boots on the ground experience in Nashville was walking into the airport to catch a connecting flight and there was just puke on the floor right outside the gate and no one seemed to care or were doing anything about it

Nashville is a place where Kid Rock is not only tolerated but embraced and celebrated

Our current (and presumptive future) governor is a woman. Also a Bills fan, as she should be.
I've never felt unsafe in Baltimore, but I've really been in Fells Point, Federal Hill, and Inner Harbor most of the time I've spent there. I was trying to find a way to say it's safe if you stay in the right places without opening up a conversation about the intricate politics that exist in a lot of our cities with zoning, gentrification, affordable housing, policing, schooling, etc.
We have moved around quite a bit, and I'm now in the suburbs which may completely invalidate my opinion. Previously lived in the inner harbor adjacent to the University of Maryland Hospital, followed by Locust Point and Canton. Also worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital which is in East Baltimore. I also was trying to avoid the "safe if you stay out of the wrong areas" conversation. Which is true of any city on earth.

love the idea of some white hillbilly in South Carolina telling Sang that he left Baltimore because it was too dangerous and Sang just nodding like "mm hmm"
