People from Atlanta and pretending Waffle House is something special. Name a more iconic duo.
"It is indeed, marvelous. An irony free zone where everything is beautiful and nothing hurts. Where everybody, regardless of race, creed, color, or degree of inebriation, is welcome. It's warm yellow glow a beacon of hope and salvation, inviting the hungry, the lost, the seriously hammered, all across the south to come inside. A place of safety and nourishment. It never closes. It is always, always faithful. Always there, for you."
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Has anyone articulated a reason why Portland is bad other than "people with tattoos move there"?
No one’s really saying why it’s good either because no one here has spent much time there.
I've been there a lot over my life. I friggin love it there, and dream about starting over there all the time. The art scene, the queer scene, the small town feel, the access to nature, the FOOD, the cost of living being relatively low for what is a cool city...I could go on!

The numbers I was looking at were based on the American Community Survey, also conducted by the Census Bureau. They had Denver at 76% and Portland at 77% white. Not sure why the discrepancy.

the race numbers used the census itself, not the ACS.
