I've never been to Nashville, but recently someone I have on social media went out there and was posting stories from there and it looked like hell so I'm ok with it. Also things ive heard about it don't sound great
I've been to every other city on this list except Philly. Of those I've been to, my elimination vote would be Denver or Atlanta, leaning Denver
i would've loved to make the case for mobile. traffic isn't bad, good seafood, one good thai restaurant, one good indian restaurant, 2-3 good mexican restaurants, 2 good middle eastern restaurants, airbus, close to the bay and beaches, small but vibrant downtown scene, the only shows that sell out here are Elton John, Kevin Hart, Jerry Seinfeld, Cats, and jason isbell performs here roughly every 18 months. plus if you want to visit a southern city new orleans is only ~2 hours away.
whats the good thai place? i've been to Taste of Thai in Grand Bay/Irvington a few times and it's fantastic, nice little hole in the wall place. i need to find more thai places down there because i miss it when i'm home since we have several good thai places in Oxford. i havent gone over to Mobile to eat much besides some general seafood type places that i dont even remember the names of
Siam Thai on Hillcrest. place is great, and the servers are wonderful. there is also Thai Diner right down the road which others swear by but i stan Siam.
not thai but if you are looking for a great po boy a place called Debris opened downtown last May. cool place with a small menu, just po boys. great seafood poboys, but also cochon de lait, and a killer bbq shrimp pistolette. shame it took so long to get a decent poboy in mobile but i'm grateful we have the option now.

looked up bands from denver and yikes the list is pretty bad. Also i found one of the funniest sentences i think i'll ever read: "In the mid 2000’s, The Fray was the biggest band in not just Colorado, but possibly the world."

Crediting The Black Keys to Nashville (or debiting them or whatever) is major Akron, OH erasure, where is LoveLuckLaughter to defend her adopted hometown?

We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Oh, I'm about to fight someone.
You can blame Nashville for them being boring now.

I'm trying to think of bands I've seen from in/around Denver. I can come up with Skydyed and String Cheese Incident, SunSquabi and The Motet. I like all them and seen them all multiple times except Motet only once. I guess I'm going to have to go search and see what else is out there...
Okay, Yonder Mountain String Band is cool. Pretty Lights is good (AFB and PL Live).
On the other hand though from Boulder - Firefall - "You are the woman that I've always dreamed of..." is lame. Sugarloaf was hit/miss "Don't call us, we'll call you" and "Green Eyed Lady. And Air Dubai is from Denver too I think.
I'd say I lean more positive to the jam and hippie scene there.
