I know I’m a day late the 50th person to say it but dang AF killed it. So happy for them. Been a fan since the beginning and seen them every tour since Neon Bible. So flipping ready for a tour. I know the album kinda stunk but the Everything Now tour slapped. What a way to start the day y’all.
I feel like Everything Now was graded on a curve, a bit, thanks to the band's previous output. I'm not saying it's a great record by any stretch, but, I mean, the title track is fucking fantastic, and there are at least two other really good songs on there. It's just that they all also have to share space with the likes of "Infinite Content."
Also, agreed that tour was sick.
I'm still hoping Machine Gun Kelly takes the stage at Bonnaroo, but then pulls off a mask Scooby Doo villain-style, and it's Win Butler, instead.
Arcade Fire has always been more of a live band anyways. The Everything Now tour was amazing to see, even if that album was a big dud. Hope the buzz of this performance and the record do well and that they can cement themselves again as an A-list headliner. (same thing happening to Lorde now..)

Agree that it was weird he didn't sing those (was in other songs aswell) and he had great background singers who did sing or added extra stuff in other songs tho.
yeah I'm skipping ahead now and the harmonies on "Boyfriend" are really nice but overall I'm not really feeling this. nice jumpsuit though. Gonna skip ahead to the Shania part and call it a day.
I think there's four songs after Shania. Definitely worth staying with it. Love the second to last song.

watched them. I actually saw Harry on the tour for the first album and I like it then but for whatever reason I didn't like it as much on the stream. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Bummer. I had a good time. Just replayed a bunch for my wife.

That as Kiwi. Was such a great show to see. New songs sounded great, the What Makes You Beautiful was done amazing, the Shania Twain feature was wholesome, great showmanship..

Watching AF now, and I’m going to be so sad if we don’t get this next weekend. They can’t just leave the Mojave empty for two hours. Really hope this is a long con.
Yeah, if someone had taken me up on the impossible to gauge “will the hu have a decent crowd” bet I would claim victory. That’s a totally legit crowd for that stage and time, especially given what the act was.
I’ll buy you a beer. It was way more populated than I thought. The Hu definitely had a bigger crowd than Bishop Briggs.
Missed this but would love to meet up for a beer if timing works out! But no worries on the bet that wasn’t haha
I’ve decided that LCD Soundsystem would also be an acceptable replacement for AF W2.
I have been the biggest contrarian prior to this year re: Lady Gaga having a "surprise set" and Deadmau5 performing his new cube in 2020. I wonder if Paul is going a GLastonbury route and trying to get bigger acts to do stripped down surprise shows in smaller tents. I kind of assumed that this was a standard AF "hey we want to do this" but they made it pretty clear Paul T called them and pitched it as a surprise.
Regardless that Arcade Fire set was legendary and I am so jealous I was not there.
Annoyed that The Avalanches show in Chicago was pushed till fall This set is super fun
I just caught the end of it and they left stage paying tribute to The Roches. Wtf? Set was on the dreamy side, but I enjoyed it.
/We are Maggie and Terri and Suzy, we spell our last name R O C H EEEEEE
I was also sad that that tour got pushed. We had tickets for Denver a few days after my bday in Feb but it got pushed. Now have to wait till Oct but this has me super excited to finally see them.

I’m not sure I’d expect this again in future years, but I would just be really surprised if there’s NOTHING there W2. That’s the weekend that typically needs help with ticket sales, and they’ve been so insistent on keeping the same lineup both weekends. AF would be the first time an act on the set times wouldn’t be scheduled both weekends.
Also, leaving a two hour gap during sunset in the Mojave would be bizarre.

Yeah, but the question is when did he call them. Like last week? I could imagine it was when they were leading up to do the NY shows and possibly looked into LA and coachella came up. Its a different way to have a secret show and not make people go on a scavenger hunt or anything. Cause the video Regine and Win did for Osheaga shows them rehearsing so they had to have a decent amount of time to have booked a space and stuff in advance when everyone and their mother was in LA getting ready for this weekend
I always thought Slander was the epitome of generic EDM. They have mostly bored me live and on streams. This shit needs to end so I can catch the rest of badbadnotgood which me and on le of my boxer dogs passed out about 4 songs in last night around 3:20.
BBNG coming up on the stream replay now for anyone interested
Definitely a noticeable stylistic change since Matthew left. So far it leans a bit more to the sultry side of jazz, though still experimental, with more emphasis on brass. No judgment call but I am interested to see where this goes.
just rattling off my head so i’m definitely missing some but the first ones that come to mind are Billie, KGATLW, Cuco, 88Rising, Disclosure, and Brockhampton
