Just catching up on some of the stuff I missed during my sedar last night, and looks like it was a brilliant day/night on the polo field (opening day logistics notwithstanding). Arcade Fire was great, so they'll end up playing in LA on Wednesday and force me to choose between them and Warpaint, my two fav bands. I probably shouldn't have been surprised how much I enjoyed Harry Styles given his influences and picks for openers, but he killed it. Loved Phoebe, she owned the place.
rewatching this Arcade Fire set and am still just as in awe
what a damn set. we’re some lucky people
I must have been making a drink when Win was overcome emotionally at the start of new song Unconditional and had to restart it. It’s definitely been a long two years.
Thought Phoebe's music would be way more intimate and quiet perhaps even get washed away, but songs like Motion Sickness, Kyoto etc translate well to massive crowds like these. Still think shows like these can easily get ruined tho.

That leading into Wake Up was a big release of emotional energy to end that set with a bang.

Mag- that was my thought exactly- we attended her set at Firefly last September, and (through no fault of the band) the softer parts of Phoebe’s rain-shortened set were marred by a distracting disco lounge thumping nearby and a possibly less-engaged, anxious Billie Eilish crowd posting up early.
That said, they nailed it last night. Great sound on the home theater, and crowd seemed locked in. Arlo Parks joining a couple songs was a nice bonus.
just rattling off my head so i’m definitely missing some but the first ones that come to mind are Billie, KGATLW, Cuco, 88Rising, Disclosure, and Brockhampton

I know I’m a day late the 50th person to say it but dang AF killed it. So happy for them. Been a fan since the beginning and seen them every tour since Neon Bible. So flipping ready for a tour. I know the album kinda stunk but the Everything Now tour slapped. What a way to start the day y’all.
I feel like Everything Now was graded on a curve, a bit, thanks to the band's previous output. I'm not saying it's a great record by any stretch, but, I mean, the title track is fucking fantastic, and there are at least two other really good songs on there. It's just that they all also have to share space with the likes of "Infinite Content."
Arcade Fire seemed to go through their U2 Popmart phase with Everything Now. Everyone was ready to turn on them, including myself.
Nah but fr, that Madeon set is unwatchable. What's with the zooming and camera switches, this ain't TikTok or whatever.
Lol I kinda liked the way it was edited but I didn't have any attachment to watching Madeon ahead of time. Really enjoyed that broadcast. Understand why you didn't though
