no we just think dudes from ~the greatest city in the world~ don't get to share their opinion of anywhere in the south
Grew up in Kentucky, lived in Virginia, have spent significant chunks of time in TN, Louisiana, and yes, Arkansas, and have visited every other southern state multiple times.
Unlike a lot of people on Inforoo dot com, I don’t talk shit about places in which I’ve never stepped foot.
Also, just to be clear, I wasn't referring to the entire American south with my comment. Just Arkansas. It's my least favorite state, and I say that having visited all of them in the continental US with the exception of Maine.

People talk so much shit on this site about so many things, but I say a disparaging word about Arkansas, of all things, and I'm the asshole. Cool cool cool. Sorry, y'all. I'll bow out.
This looks cool and its similar to Day for Night in Houston. Another festival thats got some cool bookings and interesting ideas while not being a popular major city.

Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

It would be cooler if this was in Eureka Springs. What an amazing small town (and liberal). Echo all the "you'd be surprised how cool NW Arkansas is" comments. Stunning topography. It's just the maga people that ruin it, but same could be said for a dozen states.

To me it’s not so much that Arkansas sucks, it’s more that there’s no reason to go there. This fest looks cool but tickets, flights and accommodations put it around $1,000 for me to attend and that’s a no from me dawg.

Being from a similar nowhere state, I think its pretty dope they got a high enough quality lineup to bring in people from out of state. Might be better than Hinterland and 80/35 combined!

I would say if you liked the lineup, that would be a reason. Also the scenery, endless outdoor stuff to do (mountain biking, hiking, horses, kayaking the Buffalo River), really cool ass small towns. Even in the sw part of the state, Hot Springs is super great to visit. Like I said, it's very similar in vibe and terrain to western North Carolina. Lots of people might think there's no reason to go there either. Yet I find a way to get my ass up there as often as I can.

I supposed if the stars lined up I would make it out there for this fest but theres 3 other local ones I have planned for this year already. Funny you mentioned Asheville because I’ll be flying out there for a concert and meeting up with some friends in a couple of months.
If I was in driving distance of Bentonville I’d be stoked for this.

If you haven't ever been to Asheville, that's my favorite small city I've ever been to. Hopefully you get a few days to enjoy plenty of what it has to offer - downtown, all the breweries, decent food, outdoor shit and particularly the amount of nearby waterfalls which I think per capita is the most anywhere in the US, the WNC farmers market, Arboretum, etc. I'm in the same boat. Format is about 10 hours from here which is certainly drivable. But the Super VIP at Bourbon and Beyond was the impulse choice for this fall's travel. If the Format festival works out, I'd for sure consider going next year since I haven't been up there since maybe 2017 or so.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
anyways, since this is a fest thread. i'm happy to see Phoenix is gonna be active in the fall and Nile Rodgers & Chic is a super fun and out of left field booking.

trantsgiving was there for the first time this weekend and literally said "I just couldn't live around here because the mountains feel claustrophobic to me"

Lineup announces at 10:35am. Inforoo thread on lineup crashes and burns by 1:30pm. LOL
My first impression of Arkansas (North Little Rock)? Dinner at Waffle House was the highlight. BUUUT…I’m from New Jersey and we know a thing or two about getting shit on! Many folks’ only impression of NJ is Newark Airport and the NJ Turnpike- and they miss the best 99% of a beautiful, diverse state. Maybe this festival puts Arkansas on the entertainment/festival map.

That exactly the opposite of how I feel about it, but I guess everyone has their own experiences and peculiarities.
