Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
trantsgiving was there for the first time this weekend and literally said "I just couldn't live around here because the mountains feel claustrophobic to me"
That exactly the opposite of how I feel about it, but I guess everyone has their own experiences and peculiarities.
lol yeah i essentially said to him "I can respect your difference in opinion but truly cannot understand it."
Mountains are my happy place & where I feel most free.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Wow, this came out of left field - the fascinating lineup, and hilarious thread debate!
Echoing other sentiments - Bentonville, despite the corporate overlords that shadow everything within and around, is a nice town with a badass museum (Crystal Bridges) and a very fun female-centric film festival run by Geena Davis! GEENA DAVIS!!
Having family originally from the Ozarks, I'd visit the area at least once a year throughout my younger years. Eureka Springs, Fayetteville, Fort Smith, Hot Springs are towns that all have very redeeming qualities, and along with the gorgeous topography, trails and various outdoor adventures surrounding those towns, it really makes the 'Armpit' of Arkansas smell seemingly swell!
If the stink of Trump flags and what they represent are what's so concerning, I saw many of them and their ilk stained all across the state of New York when I roadtripped through there. Every state has some stank, and since we like to throw shade around here, I'd argue Mississippi is the worst of the 50 armpits. Feel free to pop in and defend, any Mississippian - tag, you're it!
I would love to make this happen, hopefully it all works out.

Lineup announces at 10:35am. Inforoo thread on lineup crashes and burns by 1:30pm. LOL
My first impression of Arkansas (North Little Rock)? Dinner at Waffle House was the highlight. BUUUT…I’m from New Jersey and we know a thing or two about getting shit on! Many folks’ only impression of NJ is Newark Airport and the NJ Turnpike- and they miss the best 99% of a beautiful, diverse state. Maybe this festival puts Arkansas on the entertainment/festival map.
Any, cool lineup…
ok but NJ is legitimately the worst state in the country
no we just think dudes from ~the greatest city in the world~ don't get to share their opinion of anywhere in the south
Grew up in Kentucky, lived in Virginia, have spent significant chunks of time in TN, Louisiana, and yes, Arkansas, and have visited every other southern state multiple times.
Unlike a lot of people on Inforoo dot com, I don’t talk shit about places in which I’ve never stepped foot.
Also, just to be clear, I wasn't referring to the entire American south with my comment. Just Arkansas. It's my least favorite state, and I say that having visited all of them in the continental US with the exception of Maine.

I hear Maine is very nice
Love maine, day trips to Portland are so nice in the summer. Allagash brewery is there as well
This lineup is so fitting for my taste. I don’t think I can swing this fest this year too but I really want too. Absolutely amazing lineup imo
Only things I knew after DJ Tennis were Shygirl and New Breed Brass Band. Anything experimental I need to know about after Tennis to be on the lookout for?

If you had to rank all states based on how noteworthy they are, not how good or bad they are, I think Arkansas would come in at 50. Even when you think of the most racist states in the country Alabama and Mississippi always spring to mind and I remember there's another state nearby but I just keep moving forward without acknowledging Arkansas' existence. You'd hope college football would be its claim to fame but they leave that to Bama and others. The Dakotas, Iowa, Deleware, Idaho, Nebraska all give it a run for its money but I think Arkansas is the king of irrelevance. I don't think Walmart makes a big dent because its such a widespread brand that nobody really cares where the HQ are. It has Walmart and Bill Clinton being born there and I'm out of notes. This festival may actually move the needle.

Everyone who knew better stood up for places in NW Arkansas. I promise it’s worth a few days exploring in the future.

Delaware might be completely irrelevant, but we were the first state to ratify the constitution, so that's.. something.
03/14 - Thievery Corporation 04/25 - Black Country, New Road 05/04 - In Flames, Gatecreeper 05/10 - Modern Life is War 05/21 - Spite, Bodysnatcher, Thrown 05/29 - Knocked Loose, Loathe, Show me the Body, Speed 06/02 - Bush 06/22 - George Thorogood 06/23 - Dillinger Escape Plan, Deadguy, Candy, Carbomb
I have lived in Bentonville the last 7 years and can tell you this part of Arkansas is actually really nice. I can tell you from knowing where this festival is going to be that the location will be cool but the logistics of getting in and out are going to be a nightmare.
Here's an article on Eureka Springs from CNN today, "Inside Eureka Springs, the Bible Belt's LGBTQ+ Oasis" (40 miles east of Bentonville)
Rodd Gray moved to Eureka Springs to rest.
Gray had done it all, or close to it, in his 60-plus years -- the military veteran has been a hairdresser, computer programmer, award-winning AIDS advocate, and drag queen (he performed as Patti Le Plae Safe, a Miss Gay America winner). When a tornado blew through Dallas and destroyed his former workplace, followed shortly by the arrival of Covid-19, the Texan was ready to trade in the bustle for some quiet in the Arkansas town of 2,000. But when he arrived in January of last year, retirement didn't happen. Gray fell in fast with the locals, even reviving the Ms. Le Plae Safe act for charity gigs. Now he mans the front desk at a motel-turned-LGBTQ-friendly resort, the Wanderoo Lodge, owned by a gay couple who recently settled in Eureka themselves.
The only problem with moving to Eureka Springs, Gray said, is that he didn't get there sooner.
It's kind of funny, because last time I was in Eureka (2015), LGBTQ+ wasn't really any more noticeable than bikers cruising through the Ozarks. But it's a really picturesque and cool little town as we've all been saying since Format got announced.
It's fascinating Eureka Springs has become a bastion for progressives considering there is a conservative christian theme park with a giant Jesus statue overlooking it all
very pumped for the potential of this festival. Made a playlist of all the undercard acts I was unfamiliar with and listened to it on the way to visiting family in Ozarks last month. There wasn't one track I disliked. Tons of quality, some of the standouts I'm looking forward to see how they are live: Ela Minus, Quantic, Ameme, Acid Pauli, Lost Souls of Saturn... and Jlin with a local drumline??
Feels like it's not selling well, majority of the comments I've seen outside of bots 'reselling' are folks trashing the Waltons and the camping options - completely understandable. I'd have fears it was canceled if they were independent, but with all the money behind the curtain, I'm sure it's a-go just to entertain the interested executives who greenlit.
Man I cannot wait for this. Unfortunately a ton of conflicts, but that's always a good sign for quality of what is playing. Also with how many stages there are, how spread out the field is, and how little the crowds predicted will be there, everything should be pretty easy to attend/get a good spot.
Acts I don't really see appear in the schedule:
plastikman - he is just listed in the Art exhibit section with John Gerrard. then I guess Richie Hawtin is performing his separate set. digable planets - not on the schedule, even though still listed in the main 'Artists' section. They seem like an unfortunate drop-out quantic - One of the musicians I've really enjoyed everything heard, but I don't see where he is playing? jlin - looks to be performing in collaboration with artist Nick Cave and the local University drumline. This sounds very intriguing.
Interesting decision by C3 to release the schedules for ACL and this only hours apart from each other. Suppose they do or don't expect a lot of people to attend both? either way, forMAT is waaay more exciting to dig through and dissect.

Lot going on. Feels like more artists' installs spread out than Day For Night. Tons of ground to be covered.
Including actually making it to the festival apparently. Appears they've restricted all roads leading to the airstrip location to specific designations. Pray it's not a complete clusterfuck getting in and out, especially at 3AM
Can confirm - the lofty, inspired spirit of Day For Night has been corporatized and floated up north to the woods, then landed on a country airstrip.
Now enjoyed by lame and tame crowds - EDIT: Oh yeah, and the 10,000attendee estimate has been very comfortable to get around. On first day, the only area that was visibly crowded was Fatboy Slim in the tiny-ass disco-barn (but holy shit was it fun). So much so, security had to start regulating entry. Made for an intimate set.
It is supremely fucking cool though. All the money they bulldozed in here is very apparent and impressive.
Plan to do full, extensive day-by-day reviews (with fun photos as usual!) eventually when time allows.
