Salt N Peppa Spice Girls Missy Elliott Mariah Carey TLC Shania Twain Sinead O'Connor Celine Dion Fiona Apple
I don’t think he was going for radio pop excluding Fiona who is a cut above. It’s fine if people like Spice Girls but it seemed pretty manufactured. And Sinead isn’t necessarily that same vein but she was clearly out of her mind showing signs of being at least somewhat disturbed early on.

Yes, let's continue to dismiss more female artists based on their perceived mental illnesses.
Both had their biggest commercial hits in the 90's
That wasn’t the poll though. Metallica was very well known in the 1980’s when they toured almost nonstop. They were one of the early thrash bands that appealed to hardcore and metal fans alike where there was still a gulf between the fanbases.

She halfway sucked too and halfway had stuff I liked. Don’t bring in straws. Nobody said that was a reason. I thought overall her music was better than most of the list at least more creative. But if you were around to see her antics, you probably wouldn’t be surprised she transitioned to the one religion that currently seems to be the most opposite of what she stood for - anti-patriarchy

You need to stop lecturing people on the history of music.

Maybe I know because I was around then having seen hundreds of concerts up to that point. It’s opinion, not lecture. You aren’t wrong, but I don’t think most Metallica fans measure them by Sandman when Kill em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, And Justice for All were already out there and arguably some of their best work.

They were one of the biggest metal acts of the 80's. They were one of the biggest acts of the 90's period.

That’s fair. We were deep into the hardcore scene when thrash and crossover intertwined with hardcore. Earliest punk-thrash band I remember was D.R.I. from Houston. But in time we started seeing a lot of Metallica, Celtic Frost, Venom and Slayer fans coming to the harder punk shows like Cro-Mags and shit and lots of punks started catching the thrash shows. They did get way bigger though so you have a reasonable point.
Cake? NIN? Sorry I'm off in my highschool memories. I'll shutup
Nails is on the poll though late 80’s, right?
Totally missed them on the poll and might be 80s without looking it up. I just remember mid 90s is when they hit big here - but then again I live in the sticks
The lack of Sugar Ray on here is just appalling. Middle School Siggy is about to riot!!!
I mean, if we're getting all 90's up in here you need to include Dave Matthews Band, Barenaked Ladies, Goo Goo Dolls, Gin Blossoms.
You forgot one of the most important bands. The band that taught us if you know 3 chords, YOU can be a rock star. That's right, The Presidents of the United States. Where the fuck are they on here.
Oh and way to go only naming boy bands. Just because one has ladies in the name does not make ladies in the band.
