there is nothing unique about these headliners now. bad bunny and blackpink toured the world. blink is about to tour and now fredtetrex has been everywhere lately.
It’s unique in that they are paired together on the same night. That’s going to be fun as hell. Also, they haven’t been around THAT much and it’s the first time we’ve had the real Blink in like a decade. Would Frank have been more rare? Kinda? But there was nothing else that could have filled this role with the time they were given and I think they delivered with what they could.
1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/4: knock2 3/7: Inhaler* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
Psssh, they didn't even move Jai Paul to the proper day!
billing
Hey, if being on the second line got some 17 year old kid to see his name, think “Who the fuck is that?” and then never think about him again, I’m ok with that.
It’s prob TBA because skrillex radiused with hard summer?
Prob because the contract isn't 100% signed yet, will take until Friday or Saturday, and if they announced them without a signed contract they would get completely wiped in closing negotiations

What was the alternative though? Frank b*tched out, and Blink had the the biggest crowd outside of Bad Bunny with zero leadup to their performance.
They're a SoCal native band reuniting after a decade. It makes sense. What else do you want?

Sad us weekend one folks didn't get girlgenius, but happy for the weekend two buds who will actually have something to enjoy over the schadenfreude of witnessing Frank Ocean straight murdering all of his remaining goodwill "live" on stage.

MERCH WARNING:
Anyone buying the Chem Bros tie-dye shirt from the merch tent needs to know that they run extremely small. I got an XL that fits somewhere between a M-L.
This is super frustrating because I asked if they could take it out of the packaging to show me the sizing and they said no. I then asked if I could buy it then return it for another size if it didn’t fit and they said no. Most of the sizings run big (my Jai Paul shirt, Pusha T hoodie, and Chris Lake shirt), so I took the guys word for it on this one and was let down.
Side note: if anyone would be interested in purchasing a 2XL and swapping for my XL I’d pay for all shipping.

Sunday is going to end on an insanely fun note rather than a sad deflating balloon. Can hardly contain my excitement after that depressing looking end to weekend 1.

Agreed. I went W1 and was left mindfucked for a couple days after because of Frank, and not in a good way.
Feel a bit better now looking back on the weekend as a whole, but I’m really happy they pulled him for the W2 folks as that performance was not worth the mental fuckery.

well, this is all shaking out to be a fantastic weekend. The programming for Sunday is better than I think I could have hoped after learning that Frank was dropping out. I’m not a blink-182 fan, but they did a good job of moving things around to make Sunday night a fun dance party.
