I heard it lol. That line went to ada in Mojave. Not even kidding.
Holy shit. I assume the lines are longer because of AC?
I have no clue. I think we've lost the Sonora to being like the cool place to see bands now cause of who they put in there this year. Soul Glo had a line too. Like last year when it was hot W2 the tent was full cause of the AC. This is way diff. Why would there be a line for Knocked Loose on Sunday night ya know? You can just go to the Yuma and cool off too.

Sonora capacity is significantly reduced from all prior years. Once you get in from a line, it feels barely over half full which was frustrating. Tons of room to move around but just unfortunate if you’re trying to set hop and see 10+ acts in a day. Can’t just bounce in and out real quick anymore.
Curious if they fix the production issues from last week. They seemed to have a lot of trouble transitioning back and forth between DJs and live acts. Lots of late starts and sound issues at the acts I tried to see.
This was the first year I didn't see anyone in the Sonora since it's been around. I did go see Magdalena Bay but it was so slammed we had to stand on the railing by the stairs so we left after like 2 songs. Schedule this year didn't work out for me to catch anyone I wanted to see in there. Sidenote I STILL haven't done the Heineken tent after 6 Coachellas

W1 always has these issues. For the sets I went to, the delays were only on the main stage this year. I think only Metro and Labrinth were a bit late on a different stage for me

I think after Friday last week they locked down the cap. It feels bigger but theyre letting less people in now. Knocked loose wouldve had a ton of room for people if there wasnt a pit.

I don’t remember sound issues in the Sonora like this year. Mixing also seemed really bad at some of the sets that didn’t have blatant issues too. Maybe that’s a bit of recency bias and bad luck with the sets I chose though.
The capacity was my real issue. It’s never felt unsafe in there prior years and they have four separate exit points. Missing big chunks of a set or not being able to slip in for the last few songs because of a line was a new thing for me at Sonora this year.
Didn’t matter that the crowd wasn’t into it at Gorillaz. It was still phenomenal
were they not into it in person? bc they looked way more into it on stream they did last weekend. would be interested to see how both weeks translated in person
Aside from almost having a heat stroke, today was one of, if not, the best day of Coachella ever. Starting the day with Jupiter & Okwess -> Lewis OfMan -> Domi & JD Beck -> Gabriels -> Saba -> Anderson Paak -> Overmono, and then including Blondie, Gorillaz & Chem Bros…..fucking top tier.

I felt that way too W1... Then Saturday was even better. Strap in

chems and yves tumor sets of the day for me. enjoyed gorillaz, muna and wet leg also. not that into bad bunny, but he had a massive crowd.
returned to coachella after 7 years. everything seems way bigger now. cap of VIP is like 5 x what it used to be. overall my wild guess is some 85-90k people today overall. outdoor stage seems much bigger now, and not that cool and attractive like it used to be. all the tents look bigger, production in sahara impressive.
looking forward to boygenius, ethel, rosalia and underworld tomorrow.

my day went murder capital> lava la rue> comet is coming> doechii> magdalena bay> yves tumor> lil bit of blondie> gorillaz> metro boomin> bits of la bunny> maceo plex
highlights were comet, magdalena bay (all of their music makes so much more sense to me in this life context, im a full fun neoww), and gorillaz (lil simz shut that shit down.)
yves was just violent enough and lava left me unimpressed if i had to pick a true low. i didn’t love her heavy heavy use of tracks.
also stop laying in front of the ax in sonora… stop it!

i hope at least one of yall got to see magdalena bay today
made it to the gorgeous front left pit, it was a packed tent but i think everyone made it in no problem? it was the tv girl line that looked REALLY evil today.
anyway, they’re all gods, probably left that set most impressed by the realization of vision and sound.
