The section I was in for Bjork was silent the entire time, it was amazing. One woman came in and started talking loudly but realized we weren't having it after a minute and she stopped.
Re: Prydz, I'm a total techno snob and he's not high on my list of artists I would generally be excited for.
I went to Nia Archives which was the right call for me, but because Prydz started late, I was able to catch the last 35 or so minutes. I Walked down the right side and met my friend near the front, I LOVED the show. Maybe he saved a lot of the heat for the end, but I enjoyed the hell out of it, the sound was perfect and the visuals were cool, great crowd energy with lots of room to dance. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it.

Did a bunch of stuff start late Saturday? I was surprised when Underworld went ten minutes over and then it seemed like every set at every stage after either started late or ended late. I wasn’t keeping strict track of time at that point though

Underworld started early and went over. They played one extra song too. They hit the stage at 9:01. Probably cause they wanted to just do more. But its not like coach stopped em.

Very this! It would get pin drop quiet at moments in the pit, with ofc some tasteful singing along to Hyberballad, Joga, Hunter

Driving through the desert to Vegas to head back east, very thankful that I got enough fomo from this website to actually finally come out to this place. a near perfect weekend with my only regret not getting to see anyone from this website. Apologies to those who reached out to make that happen. Set of the weekend for me was Rosalia but honestly isolating any one set from the weekend on the whole feels like it doesn't do that place justice
Felt so bad for Björk with that dust in her throat at the beginning. Can't imagine singing the way she does in those conditions.
Thats prob why Tom kept mention how dry his throat was too during the Blink set
If Bjork was at coach w2 2014 during the dust storm she prob wouldve lasted 2 songs and stopped it. considering the grass held up we got lucky with artists not getting killed by the dryness and dust as much.

I watched the Blink stream and I think that's just what Tom's voice sounds like? Like yeah every pop punk singer for the next decade copied his annoying yelpy thing.

In the air headed back home now and man what a banger of a weekend. I still feel euphoric from it all and completely satisfied. Also somehow it that tired because of the feeling despite it being hot af and a little grueling. Not gonna go through all of my sets but gonna jot down some thoughts on some of the artist I saw.
Angele is a great performer with super catchy songs and I really feel like she’d be a star in the US if she sang in English. Dancers and band were great. She also sounded great. Glad I pulled the trigger to see her, even though I would’ve liked to see all of Gorillaz. I just wish her crowd was bigger.
The Chemical Brothers were super good but I do wish I had a better spot for them. They also played some tracks I didn’t know/care about at some points so I thought there were some lulls, though pretty brief. I’m not sure they met my very lofty expectations tbh but they were still super good and the best EDM show of that scale that I’ve seen. Temptation/Star Guitar > Swoon > Galvanize to end was so insane.
Rosalia was my (sorta) surprise of the weekend. I watched the stream, thought it was great and also thought the same in person. The dancers were fantastic as was the pacing of the set. The camera work was particularly great and wasn’t like anything else I’ve seen at a show. The set never felt stale even though it was a pretty minimal set design. 10/10 show. This type of stuff is what I come to Coachella for.
Jai Paul was sick. Maybe he was just better W2 but the criticism from W1 seemed unwarranted. Wish I could’ve saw the whole thing but couldn’t leave Rosalia. Str8 Outta Mumbai and BTSTU went so hard and the crowd was nuts.
I’ve been going through a big Underworld thing the past 6 months or so, so I saw them at the perfect time in my fandom and that was super special for me. Their music translates so well live. Two Months Off is a monster of a song live (and otherwise) and I lost my shit during Born Slippy. I do think W1 got the better show since they got Juanita 2022 instead of Gene Pool and they also didn’t really stop between songs, they just transitioned them into each other. Either way, still incredible and this is a show I won’t forget.
Calvin has like 10 good/great songs and was fun. You guys are prudes.
Romy threw in an edit of Feel So Good by Sonique which is one of my favorite songs so that was sick. She teased some other great songs too. Super fun, sad I had to leave early to see Weyes Blood but I don’t regret it. PHM played Strong later that night so I got to check that off surprisingly. Me, RyDolla$ign, Jake Jortles and Dan808 got on the stream so that was fun.
Weyes Blood was very good live and had really good visuals and production. She was also pretty funny. Saying that this song was a moshing song , then just playing a Weyes Blood song and bringing out some dude in a dinosaur costume to “play” a multi-neck guitar. Would love to see a full show from her sometime.
I thought Björk was really good, though the crowd was kinda bad during some of it from some blink campers and others. She’s one of my favorite artist ever and has been for awhile so it’s always special to be able to see one of your favorite artist for the first time. I also got a little emotional during Hyperballad.
I enjoyed PHM so much and thought they were a great ending to the fest. They played bangers, the crowd was nuts and so into it. I can’t think of a time I’ve been in a crowd that went that hard during Pull Me Out Of This. Had almost all of my friends that were there around and we just raged. Also really enjoyed the setup. Them being in the middle and it was mostly just lights from the speaker towers with minimal screen use. We were almost directly behind a speaker pointing at us so the sound was great.
Spent probably 4~ hours in Despacio over the three days and it’s a lot of fun. They played a What’s Going On remix that was amazing that I need to find.
Sad I missed Mag Bay, Sasha and John Digweed, Kenny Beats, Dinner Party and Gorillaz but that’s what happens when a fest books this much good shit. Sonora lines were crazy and the one time I tried for the Yuma for Sasha and John it was super long so I just went back to 2manydjs.
Speaking of 2manydjs, they played some good songs but I don’t really get the hype. Just sounded like something you’d hear at any EDM fest.
Love this fest so much. Also loved my camping group of some inforooers and friends. Couldn’t ask for a better crew.
1. Underworld 2. Fred Again.. x Four Tet x Skrillex 3. Rosalia 4. The Chemical Brothers 5. Björk 6. Charli XCX 7. Weyes Blood 8. Jai Paul 9. Blondie 10. Angele

That hockey podcast dropped their new ep today and didn't include the guest they mentioned last week to talk about Frank. It appears from the comments there was no Frank talk at all nor an indication about whether they'll bring on that person in the future.
8th Coachella, 14th year total for festivals in general. That b2b2b was hands down, by far, without a doubt the single greatest moment of my entire festivaling life. I still have goosebumps today and I am unable to shake the joy I experienced during that hour and a half. What a fucking party. I could have lived in that forever.

Will do a little write up later, currently dying with what I think is food poisoning at the Ontario airport.. I’ve puked in every corner of this airport. But what a great weekend of music and hanging with friends. Easily the best 3-day run of music I’ve ever seen.

Coachella was fun, but definitely not the best festival I've done in the US.
I do like the comfort of Lollapalooza more than anything else, unfortunately their lineups aren't as great as they used to be. Will definitely attend if the lineup is good.
Camping and music at Bonnaroo is more my taste if I compare it with Coachella. Might attend again, but can't do this every year.
Lollapalooza Bonnaroo Coachella
Still on my to-do list: ACL, Electric Forest, Summercamp. Not sure if there are any others that I really want to do. Voodoo if it comes back.

As I remember that guy is a pretty regular guest who looped them in on performing in the show because they're pretty close, so I imagine they'll have him again at some point. Whether they talk about Frank or not, idk, but they didn't seem afraid to talk about anything on that one episode. He seems like a Hollywood bigshot though so he might not be as keen.
I'm sitting here in a bar in Palm springs drinking ace pineapple cider contemplating what the fuck just happened..
It was the best festival experience of my life. Hands down. I always get nervous before flying over from the uk thinking I've wasted money but the stories I have from that one weekend have me grinning like mad. My knees hurt My feet hurt My neck hurts My Irish body is luckily not too burnt ( seriously shout out to the sun screen dispensers.)
I'm just in awe of how the do it every year.
But I saw legends made out there this weekend. Rosalia is a fucking star. Her time is coming. Fred , skrill and four Tet blew speakers to pieces. Legends like Chemical Brothers and Underworld dropped sets that took me so high. And bjork, my fucking queen. I love you. The drones were so dramatic.
It was also one of the better crowds I've seen there. Glowchella was back. And when you look at how security and drinks were considered, people were well behaved (from what I saw)
Anyway, I love it all. Also thank you to this forum because it's been fun watching the banter between everyone.

Of your to do list, I’ve only done Electric Forest. Never been to a festival where the music is so irrelevant. Like, not a single person I met or went with had even looked at the lineup. They just go for the experience, which in fairness is fantastic. The forest is a wild, awesome experience. It’s a vibes festival, and the music just kind of happens to be there lol.

Kinda the reason I'd like to attend EF, but I would go when the lineup is great. This year is kinda meh.

i know its been said a hundred times now but my husband and i are at the airport and still can't stop talking about the PHM set. what an incredible moment of festival history, so so happy to have been a part of it. omg tba forever

I bet they got some bts flak for spilling so much tea and they wanted to contain anymore frank fallout since he dipped not long after the drop. No need for a thumb in the eye at this point. I mean Coach using the ice rink for Phm was enough right there. Deadmau5 made a dig in his set.
So did Frank drop out or did Coachella decide to not want him for W2?
The ankle thing was their opening and they took it. Medical shit cleared the way for getting out as clean as possible. Frank got paid for Weekend 1 and Blink got the other portion.
And yeah, when Blink played I Miss You everyone who was sitting around me stood up so they def made the crowd happy. And then everyone singing Taylor Swift during PHM is kinda scary whenever they land the white whale.
If anyone knows of a rip out there of the PHM set, could you kindly PM me a link? I'll be desperate to relive it when my plane lands tonight and will be most appreciative!
No way I could have made Coachella happen this year with two under 2, but when Skrilltet Again was announced I seriously considered putting my marriage in jeopardy and flying out to the polo grounds to experience the moment. With all the glowing reviews by you all and my friends who went, I’m sure it would have been worth it lol
Amazing weekend. It was my 8th Coachella, and by this point, it feels less about seeing specific acts or comparing to other years than just loving moments along the way.
- Was skeptical on Bjork after hearing it was a bit sleepy, but her set blew me away. One huge benefit of Frank dropping out was that it was a small, but devoted group of fans at the front and an incredible atmosphere.
- Gorillaz was fantastic, and was set of the week for me. Sounded amazing and a perfectly eclectic group of guests.
- Tobe Nwigwe was one of the best early tent sets I've ever seen. Cee-Lo guest appearance was fun, but the closing alternate version of "Fye Fye" mashed up with "Soulja Boy" was the peak.
- Sonora lines weren't as bad as they sounded on here for me, and every line for any venue moved rapidly. Magdalena Bay had really fun crazy alien kindergarten teacher energy, and so cool seeing Black Thought guest with El Michels. Alex G also had some Neil Young level of guitar intensity up there.
- Thought Calvin Harris was a waste of a booking, but it was shockingly fun, and probably the biggest crowd I've ever seen at the fest.
- Was most looking forward to Chemical Brothers, but was a bit disappointed. It wasn't bad, and maybe it was just a jarring transition from the high of Gorillaz, but it never quite clicked. Holo was more fun, but definitely wish I had gone for Labrinth instead. Seeing a hand seem to come out of the screen was cool the first time, but got a bit redundant. Final run with "Opus" was amazing though.
- The overall vibe of the fest and the people was next level this year. Everyone was so nice and seemed happy to be there, and it was like going into another world for three days. Can't wait to return next year!
Thanks for the entertainment of a year speculation/rumors.
