Hungover at the airport so I’ll be brief. Holy shit. What an incredible weekend. GV are top tier. I can’t believe how good everything I saw was. The best festival in the world.
Also if you are ever in the position to do Safari, oh my god was it incredible. Completely exceeded expectations. I put the staff that runs it over any hotel or resort I’ve ever stayed at, they bend over backwards to make your day. What is more surprising is that the other guests were without fail the nicest people. Everybody was making friends, taking golf carts in together, we went to shows with all these people we met, I cannot say enough good things about the sense of community that happens naturally. The whole thing is a dream. Unbelievable experience and I am so glad I got the chance to do it.
We thought we were Coachella retired then bought tickets because of the lineup, and we were both like “fuck, we’re back in aren’t we?” See you all next year. The best festival ever.
So is the general consensus that Eric Prydz HOLO was a letdown? That shit was so hyped up before last weekend lol
I think if you've seen Prydz (and Holo) before, my guess is it was a letdown. If it was your first time seeing Holo and the visuals then maybe it was more impressive. I think it also suffers a bit from being compared to the Chem Bros from Fri, which is a knockout no matter how many times you've seen it and just a lot more compelling musically.

I think if you went from Underworld to that it mightve felt a but boring. If you up front the visuals really got you. In the back it seemed just like another edm show with led screen. Maybe if it was in Sahara with overhead lighting and such it couldve dazzled a little bit more.

What made it so incredible? Can you give any specifics on some things. We have gone to other Coachellas - always Hotel/Shuttle and have enjoyed them all, So we are very familiar with the area and the layout/stages/etc..
Considering Safari but details on inclusions are limited: Do the guest passes include any food and beverages in the festival? or at your tent area other than the breakfast? Do the guest passes get you front access at all stages? Can you go to store on their shuttle to stock your personal fridge with drinks etc.. or will they do that for you at market prices or Coachella prices?
Please share any details that seem vague on the VMT website.
Anybody have a download for that Four Tet, Skrillex, Fred Again... set?
i can dm you when i get home from work later tn if no one else has it. Just a warning though; the audio on the livestream was messed up for a decent amount of it. I am assuming this was just the livestream though; maybe someone has better audio from the crowd.

That would be sick! Dang, I heard about that but thought I read it was just for a few minutes. I caught the last ~40 minutes or so and it sounded great. 11:40-12:20

Audio wise in person it was perfectly fine other than some distortion I think they sorted out. Maybe cause they had the extra pa around the mini stage it messed with things, not sure. I might have a couple videos where you can tell its blowing up the speakers.
1. Jai Paul - St8 Outta Mumbai 2. Underworld - Born Slippy 3. Labrinth - Never Felt So Alone (w/ Billie) 4. Frank Ocean - White Ferrari 5. blink-182 - I Miss You 6. The Chemical Brothers - Galvanize
I don't think it's a fair characterization to say the production just "didn't come to fruition". Reports are that the ice skaters had been rehearsing for weeks and were ready and excited to perform. And if any part of the production truly was not finished, it's really Frank's fault, as reports say that he kept changing things up until the last minute. The buck has to stop with Frank.

Feel like I’ve said this a few times but Frank def shoulders a vast majority of the blame. But I do think this made me view the situation a bit differently. Like, at least the show was attempting to be good and just completely fell apart DOS
The excuses behind the clusterfuck might be relevant for an artist who doesn't have such a pathetic history, but he lost any benefit of the doubt numerous cancellations ago.
This from the article is a good indicator of how sad the defense is at this point:
"Many of Ocean’s fans came to his defense about any criticism, noting the grief Ocean may still be processing about losing his brother, his integrity to his artistic vision, and questioning the very nature of what a headlining set is expected to be or how much any artist owes in a show."
I mean sure he may have delivered us a steaming pile of dogshit, but are we really owed anything more than that?

Come on. Frank just had to stand there and sing his songs, and his fans would have lost their shit and called it the greatest musical achievement in all history.
He couldn't even get his ass out there within an hour of his start time, or manage to keep the flow going, and couldn't be bothered to even sing a couple of his songs.
These excuses about production and whatever are such transparent grasping in attempt to defend an artist you all have completely lost perspective and objectivity about. I have never heard of another artist, much less headliner, that did such a half-ass attempt and then bailed like he did. The man didn't want to be there, and didn't give one shit about delivering for his fans. It's that simple.
Blink fans at the Bjork show were pretty bad. Even if they were fairly sparse
i dunno, none really bothered me.
the only fans i really had a problem with were the Euphoria-heads who began flooding into the Mojave about 10 minute before Underworld ended. Just super-entitled, slamming right through people dancing to try and get up front. And trying to leave that tent was more of the same, people shoving trying to get close.
