How expensive is Rage now? I know they were very pricy back in like 2019 when the reunion tour was first announced, and figure they probably command the same now as then. How would their fee compare to the likes of Metallica, who we all agree is a "stretch" goal for Shaky?

Considering Metallica replaced Rage at Boston Calling this year. I would imagine their fees are pretty close. Don’t think they would have booked Metallica if they were significantly more expensive

If I’m taking a swing, Rage is probably like 1.5M and Metallica is closer to 2. But Rage didn’t rebook a lot of their festival dates and they’ve got the Europe tour to reschedule. I’m not counting on them.
Muse has a GeoGuesser game going right now for presumably US tour dates (official announcement Thursday). What’s odd though is they have both Duluth and Atlanta as locations.
I don’t think there’s any way they play arenas in both cities, and last time they headlined State Farm Arena it didn’t even sell particularly well. Wondering if it’s possible they might play the Gas South Arena in Duluth (much smaller than State Farm Arena) then also headline Shaky.

could be a mistake but I don't think they will play an arena date and Shaky.
Paramore confirmed to be dropping new album February 23rd sets up real nicely for a full Spring US tour
Where should I start in their catalog? Never listened to them and TBH the only thing I know about them is their lead singer
Riot! is how most fans started, very much pop punk/Emo so you could probably start there. After Laughter was their last album and it is to this day their most unique being really 80s pop rock and new wave sounding. Brand New Eyes is usually considered the fan favorite with Riot! right behind it. All We Know Is Falling is their first album and is fairly solid but is kind of lost in between all the other albums. Their self titled album was more alt rock and pop rock but still pretty good

Flaming Lips playing Yoshimi was just announced for 5/25 at The Anthem in DC. I don’t see other dates but assume this will be at least a small tour. Timing looks good for SK.

Yep. North American tour announced, no Atlanta date (or really any southeast dates)
Edit: Well, Matt confirmed Duluth on twitter previously, so maybe just on a different leg. Not sure.
in 2016, Bridgestone Arena was on Pearl Jam’s leaked tour and then they ended up playing Roo instead. Could be that they locked in a deal w Shaky last second.

Also what tweet?
Not “confirmation” I guess, but basically. It was also on the geoguesser. But then so was Atlanta.

Just find out whatever the gun nuts favorite band is. Book them for the Sunday Piedmont closing slot so that his wanting to go to the festival outweighs his gun fanaticism. Then have them drop out Sunday morning and be replaced by a surprise King Gizzard set.
