They actually weren’t bad last time they played SK. But I wouldn’t make it a priority to see them again.
Obviously their music is very derivative. But they were a lot of fun at Coachella in 2018. They had a packed tent and I really enjoyed it. I will be there; I got a late night ticket for Peaches to solve that conflict.
I had a dream this afternoon that GVF suddenly became really good. 10 on Pitchfork, AOTYs galore, headlining every major festival, etc. Weird dream
Maybe they could if they do something original.
yeah GVF has never sounded bad to me, they actually sound really good. Its just that they won't acknowledge that they sound like an exact replica of one of the biggest bands ever. And just kind of soulless.

My friend is a stewardess. She met Jack Black as he was a passenger for a flight. She's a pretty casual music fan. This is how our conversation went when she sent the photo to me:
Me: "Oh wow that's cool! I'm seeing him in a couple months" Her: "You're meeting him?" Me: "No I'm seeing him play" Her: "Play what?" Me: "Dude he's in a band. Tenacious D" Her: "Oh that would explain the random guitar he had with him"
Where would you have ranked GVF on the "OMG F NO" headliner status compared to say: Imagine Dragons, Travis Scott, Maroon 5?
probably the worst. Maroon 5 has some good songs and at least a ton I know, ID would just be funny, I actually don’t like Travis but he has some good songs.
GVF wouldn’t be funny nor would I know anything they played. Worst of both worlds.

Actually, is the question about Travis headlining Shaky in 23? That would probably be the worst bc it would mark a shift in Shaky’s direction and I really don’t want him to ever have a major US comeback.

I should have been more specific I didn't necessarily mean at Shaky, or even in any specific year. Shaky would have never booked Travis Scott, at any point.

Glazed over the original post and was trying to understand how the '90s Scottish rock band Travis even came up as a headliner.
