Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Has anyone here seen any of the post-Magic OPN live shows (i.e. Sonar Festival?) I love Oneohtrix, have heard mixed things about his live show but only based on the Garden of Delete tour. The Myriad tour looked phenomenal but I can't imagine he's bringing that to festivals

I will say, I think our chances for Dry Cleaning and black midi are higher now because both definitely would have fit in the Wide Awake lineup and neither are on it
Think you're right about these two, but I would prefer Just Mustard to Dry Cleaning, though.
Also off the undercard: Confidence Man Self Esteem The Big Moon Gang of Youths
Playing the Neighbourhood Weekender on the 28th. I thought we might get one of those 4.

i wouldn’t expect anyone that’s on a different continent the same weekend, even with Boston being the closest city to Europe in the US
Doja Cat got to Sub coachella and she did absolutely nothing... frank Ocean will have done nothing for 6 years and gets to headline coachella potentially....
Just saying it was a interesting path from being a band who was declining in popularity and rumored to be breaking up because the lead singer felt being in the band was holding back her solo career, to headlining Bonnaroo and selling out a tour of arenas on presale. I'm supportive of them headlining, but I kinda get why people aren't/feel surprised by it, because their progression from declining sub to coveted headliner is just really atypical.
Just to address this last bit, if that was a rumor, it is definitively false. Hayley has never been interested in leaving the band behind to go solo. Even dating back to when she was 14 and signed by Atlantic who was heavily pushing for her to be a solo artist, she was adamant that it would be Paramore and has always made sure they are recognized as a band. Even when her solo tour got cancelled due to the pandemic, she said she was actually relieved because she didn’t feel comfortable touring without the band. She has always thrived on being in a band with her childhood friends.
Yeah, I’m a huge fan of her and the band, but I didn’t think Petals for Armor was great. She actually released a second one too though, Flowers for Vases, written and recorded completely on her own.
ok given they sold out an entire arena tour in presale, we can safely say this is one of the best headliner bookings BC has made
I think a lot of the tickets were held back for the general sale this morning. There are still quite a few upper level tickets at the less popular venues (Pittsburgh, Tulsa, St. Louis, etc.). A lot of the dates have sold out completely though (both nights of MSG, ATL, TX dates, I’m assuming the CA will be any minute, etc.). Still very impressive imo and deserving of headliner for sure.
Forecastle is on hiatus this year. May bode well for Boston Calling due to less competition the same weekend. Also sonic temple being the same weekend as BC may up our chances for SOAD
Noticed on the Cruel World thread that Ladytron will be on the west coast for 3 days mid-May, but no other dates revealed. Would love to see them play one of the days at BC.

Again, all presale tickets may have sold out, but not the entire inventory of tickets for each show was included in presale. I'm checking some Ticketmaster available seating charts for their shows and I haven't found a sell out yet. Some of the shows have moved very respectable numbers, but some haven't. It is worth noting that they're not selling seats behind or to the sides of the stage, which appears to be taking 20%+ of tickets out of play for each show.
MSG numbers are very decent, although not sellouts yet:
My take? Sure, they should definitely be doing NBA/NHL arenas in the top 10 markets, but may be playing to some near empty sections in slightly smaller markets. Of course, that could change if the album does well and, given the timing of the tour dates, a lot of college students may buy tickets later, when their post-spring semester plans become clearer. Right now, I'm sure that a lot of college students don't necessarily know whether they're going back home for the summer, staying in their college town, or doing a summer internship somewhere else entirely. I'd think that any artist with a lot of 18-25 year old fans will move more tickets throughout the first half of the new year, as students' plans become clearer.
So, yes, I may have misjudged their popularity. While I have yet to be shown any proof of a sell out, they're not doing so badly on any of the seating charts I checked that they should have booked smaller venues.
So, I'm willing to give credit where credit is due...
Did some scrolling through the King Gizz subreddit and they’re supposedly doing a May/June 2023 USA run, likely making up the BC show
Additionally someone in the sub posted that they spoke to some of the band who confirmed a BC return in 2023.
I really want to see them live, but I'd rather get two nights at Roadrunner or Leader Bank Pavilion, with 4-6 hours of music, than 75 minutes at Boston Calling.
I really enjoyed Goose at Boston Calling, but they're another band that does long headlining shows. That's not a big deal if a band follows up a spring festival set with one or two nights in town later that year, but there's no guarantee of that. King Gizzard at Boston Calling may mean no full length show in town until 2024 or 2025.

Nothing I checked, including MSG and DFW, sold out completely yet.

Here’s 4 shows that are sold out. Make sure to uncheck Resale and Platinum when you search because there are venues where those are the only tickets showing up. Some shows aren’t selling well but there are a few that are sold out and some that only have upper level tickets left.
Because I’m bored, Paramore shows that are (99.9%+) sold out so far (excluding Platinum):
Charlotte - Spectrum Center Atlanta - State Farm Arena NY - Both nights @ MSG DC - Capital One Arena Cleveland - Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse Toronto - Scotiabank Arena Orlando - Amway Center Hollywood, FL - Hard Rock Live Fort Worth - Dickies Arena Austin - Moody Center Houston - Toyota Center Denver - Ball Arena San Diego - Viejas Arena Inglewood - Both nights @ the Forum San Francisco - Chase Center Seattle - Climate Pledge Arena Portland - Veterans Memorial Coliseum
New Orleans, Salt Lake City, Tulsa, and St. Louis are selling much worse than others. Only a couple other dates not listed here.
Never mocked a lineup, but fuck it, lets give this a shot (stealing a few from Zach):
The Cure - Paramore - Pearl Jam Bon Iver - Queens of the Stone Age - Bicep King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Angel Olsen - Billy Strings Bloc Party - Manchester Orchestra - Beach Bunny Genesis Owusu - The Joy Formidable - Kae Tempest
Think you could swap out The Joy Formidable with Steve Lacy, perhaps. This is a bit too rock heavy, so there's room for pop and hip-hop artists.

True - and Bicep is a pipe dream, but I love the idea of an electronic act closing red one night and their light show taking over as the sun goes down. Best case, for me, would be The Chemical Brothers closing green instead of Pearl Jam. Then maybe slot in the Yeah Yeah Yeahs to close red one of the nights.
