Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Dude, you're from Texas. Greg Abbott is your governor and Ted Cruz is your senator. I'd be surprised if you weren't thrilled to see Tucker Carlson in a festival lineup.
i'm gonna go to polls on tuesday and vote for greg abbott and he's gonna win and it's gonna be all your fault
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

It’s wild how much Paramore’s stock has risen with them doing absolutely nothing (no new album, no fake retirement, no reunion). I remember easily getting a floor tickets months into on sale to see them at a 9500 capacity venue in 2017. Deserved imo, but just a really interesting case.

Doja Cat got to Sub coachella and she did absolutely nothing... frank Ocean will have done nothing for 6 years and gets to headline coachella potentially....

i feel this is a poor comparison imo. Frank Ocean is an elusive critically approved act that sold out an entire festival on the possibility he would be headlining (even though it was drake instead). Also he was a headliner already 6 years ago at everything he played. And Doja Cat released a lot more music after her original billing in 2020 that skyrocketed her popularity and her music was literally everywhere

Doja never performed the whole time she released the music. Same as olivia. But screams for big slots came cause of it. Just saying. You cant say an artist "did nothing" to deserve or warrant a current boost in popularity.

ahhh ok, i get your point now thats valid. for doja it was the music and for Paramore it was the performances. wwwy and acl seemed to really bring Paramore back in the spotlight w how buzzy their sets were. especially considering they brought back misery business. seems Arctic Monkeys experienced something similar with their US tour selling out despite them releasing a mediocre record thats less well received than even TBH+C was

Yeah, Paramore cant headline after selling out 2 nights at msg in presale. Theyre done for
Selling out the entire arena for two nights, or just selling out those tickets set aside for presale? It's the latter.
I just checked the MSG website and neither show is listed as sold out, with the regular onsale date of 11/11 listed there.
Also, MSG is the biggest outlier when it comes to who plays arena shows. Many artists over the years who played smaller venues in other markets played MSG in NYC because the larger population base means more fans than in smaller markets.
Reaching a conclusion right now is like calling a race at 2 pm on Election Day, based upon early exit polling. We'll know a lot more about Paramore's ability to fill arenas by Saturday morning, after the verified sales and waiting rooms and such all play out. (Often, during the first few hours of sales, some people will be trying for tickets on their laptop and their phone, or maybe a tablet, and will complete the purchase on whichever device delivers better seats or gets them to the completed purchase faster. This can lead to a lot of seats appearing to be sold in the first couple of hours of sales, only to reappear when people don't complete that other purchase they lineup on a second device.)
Give me all the shit you want on Saturday morning, if they've sold out most of their arena shows by then, or come close, but it's ridiculous to draw any conclusions before the general onsale.

Frank is a bad comparison because he's someone who markets himself as this reclusive artist and rarely does live shows, meaning that when he does perform it's rare and that lack of supply drives sales for the few fests that happen to get him.
Doja is a relatively new artist and it's normal for them to be a bit underbilled relative to their raw popularity numbers under their first appearances at the major fests, then immediately get the bump to near the top (Megan Thee Stallion being another example). She also released an album last year and continued her upward trajectory on streaming during the pandemic.
Paramore finished an album cycle in 2018 where they played like 10k capacity venues and didn't even sell them out. Now 4 years later they're back and headlining major festivals and selling out 2 nights of MSG on presale. It's just an interesting case because the catalyst of this growth wasn't natural progression of a rising artist like Doja, retiring then reuniting to artificially create demand and urgency like LCD Soundsystem, slowly building a loyal fanbase willing to travel to see you like Odesza, or just being generally reclusive and a rare live show like Frank. It was just a jump to headliner because they got popular again because TikTok and a pop-punk moment (tm).
Just saying it was a interesting path from being a band who was declining in popularity and rumored to be breaking up because the lead singer felt being in the band was holding back her solo career, to headlining Bonnaroo and selling out a tour of arenas on presale. I'm supportive of them headlining, but I kinda get why people aren't/feel surprised by it, because their progression from declining sub to coveted headliner is just really atypical.
I will say, I think our chances for Dry Cleaning and black midi are higher now because both definitely would have fit in the Wide Awake lineup and neither are on it
