Looking to do this festival and visit some other places in Europe while I’m over there. Any opinions on planning this trip where you do this fest at the beginning or end of the trip? Our group is in our mid 30s and I’m a little concerned about us holding up for 3-4 days of solid partying in Barcelona at the end of a 10-14 day vacation.

Are you looking to do other festivals in conjunction or just travel?
I did PS at the tail end of a European adventure last time. It’s completely doable but I found myself giving up by like 2 or 3 am and taking a cab back to the hotel. If the festival is the main priority then my vote is schedule it first and travel after.

Just traveling after… Thinking we’ll hit up Amsterdam and Copenhagen after doing like 6 days in Barcelona. Figured it would be better to progressively get more calm and just geek out on a bunch of great restaurants in Copenhagen to finish out.

I met a guy in his late 30s who did a weekend of Primavera as his last stop on a 40 day European trip. Only thing I think he struggled with was making it for late night shows. He’d leave the site at like 2 am everyday because he was really tired. So just come in with a plan on whether those late night shows matter to you (I’m personally a bit of a completionist with festivals, and the idea of missing 4 hours of shows feels like leaving value on the table).
So do things like adjust your sleep schedule beforehand, work on your cardio fitness, and find little ways to manage your energy levels during the fest (one easy on is to go for runs of shows in similar areas at the fest, it’s a long trek to Mordor/Bits, hanging in the Quigo/Plentitude, Binance/Cupra quadrant is an easy way to see a bunch of shows without a lot of walking). Primavera’s site is massive compared to what I was used to at Bonnaroo with nearby stages, the people who get the most value at a fest like this are those who are in shape enough to just dart all around the site 4 pm - 6 am).
Also the “late shows” here is like 75% of the best shows.
It also kinda works out to start here because if you’re staying up till 6am when the festival ends you don’t really need to adjust your normal sleep schedule much from US time

My only goal with this trip is to see the sunrise each morning from the festival.

I do it out of pure laziness/cheapness also but being able to catch the metro home is so nice

Gonna commit to this more next year. W1 I struggled to stay up till 4/5 am, but W2 I felt more comfortable with my sleeping schedule (6-7 am - 1-2 pm).
Anyone know how La Ciutat is gonna happen next year? Is it only on Wednesday now or,?

website says from the 29th, so it’s Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday (& maybe Sunday after the fest). I think I heard talk of the proper welcome day coming back on Wednesday as well.

Totally fair. It makes so much more sense to do that if you’re not in walking distance to your bed. We weren’t too far and I feel like we jet lagged the entire week in the city. Gonna rectify that this go round.

Haven’t seen anything about BCN but they’re leaning hard into this mirroring festival. I’d suspect at least Monday & Tuesday with a kickoff on Wednesday.

I’ve personally been keeping an eye out this weekend for Black Friday deals. Found one from TAP that I was ready to jump on but it wouldn’t let me do multi city for round trip.
Past that, figure out how much you would like to spend and set a Google Flights alert. We’re still 7 months out and something will pop sooner or later. If I get to like 3 months out, I’ll buy to avoid the headache.
I’ve started working on a playlist with semi- “confirmed” artists for Mrs. GL.
I’ll update when the line-up drops and delete who isn’t there. In the meantime, who else am I missing?
E: If you can forgive the “hits” you’re more than welcome to follow.
Edit: Oh. About that. I don't think Blur is going to be there. Chances of Mad Cool snagging them is bigger than PS's since their headliner pool compared to PS's is much smaller and the availability of Blur was very last minute - not that PS wouldnt do last minute headliner bookings but. I believe they'd have their headliners sorted a couple of weeks ago already.

?? Didn’t you say Blur wouldn’t play? Now I’m confused
I thought so. But I don't know for certain. My source is very much in the unclear about the tour plans of Blur are. And since PS has like zeven to ten headliners they could book and Mad Cool, not so much. I could see it going to Mad Cool.
