Yeah Prima is pretty ideal for Inforoo meetups. It's a benefit to know some people. And no offense to Bonnaroo brunch fans but the additional self-selection of having to fly to Spain doesn't hurt.
The Wednesday shows are also going to be a good opportunity to meet up. I didn't go last time but my lodging is much more convenient this year. And I'm definitely gonna have to go to BierCab again if anyone would like to join me there.
After many months of following this threat, i decide to join the conversation. See you in Madrid and Barcelona. Getting hyped already!!!
MY MAN! Welcome to inforoo. Glad you took the plunge and signed up. We need more Madrid talk.
I'm betting registration for the free stuff happens this upcoming week or the one after.
Hoping for the one after because I'll have to explain to my wife how to do it while she's at a work conference.
Thanks for the exibition tip. Very interested and gonna try to pencil that in.
Thank you!! I was very tempted to do it since you where mentioning that you think you will be the only one in Madrid. I'm very tempted to think it is going to be "crowded", yet not sure. They are currently promoting like crazy the madrid site, , tomorrow there is a free concert at plaza mayor, and they are doing giveaways for madrid too.
Glad you like the link, it's an option you can check it out. I know i will...
So I'm less than 30 days from flying out and starting to pin down an itinerary. Not sure if I can pull off the half day at Montserrat but I'm gonna shoot for it until I can't. Also laying low on festival days as I'm trying to be there til sunrise each day.
This is how Barcelona is shaping up.
Day 1 Monday, May 29th:

Ciutat Show
Day 2 Tuesday, May 30th:
Park Güell La Sagrada Familia Casa Mila Casa Batllo

Day 3 Wednesday, May 31:

Kick off at the Parc del Forum
Day 4 Thursday, June 1st:

Day 5 Friday, June 2nd:

Woww!! this day:
Day 2 Tuesday, May 30th:
Park Güell
La Sagrada Familia
Casa Mila
Casa Batllo
Ciutat Show
Are you sure about this? In my experience last year, I went to Park Guell and it is located on top of a hill. You need to literally climb to get to it. Last year, the escalators where broken (they day i went ) and it was a pain in the ass to get there. If you are going by car or taxi, then by all means but just keep in mind that if you are planning to do Sagrada, Casa Mila and Batlo and ciutat all the same day. I'm thinking doing casa Mila on Sunday the 4th, they have a night experience but it's waaaaaaay to expensive. Almost feels like a rip off.
I have one of those double tours booked for Güell and Sagrada Família. If worst comes to worst, I'll push both Casa Mila and Casa Baltto to the festival days. I'm staying in Eixample and literally a block away.
Montserrat is my big fear. I'm already doubting myself and my ability to get back in time. We will see. I get my boot off this week and wanna see how much i can walk after that.
I just saw this, so i guess you should be fine. I highly recommend if you can push both Casa Mila and Batlo, it seems you won't be spending to much time there.

I don't think Madrid will be that bad but I do think it undersold for numerous reasons. The main being Mad Cool just a few weeks later and other options to go to that weekend (looking at you G'nR). There's also a part of me that thinks they're ok with that. The director of the Madrid edition said the capacity for the space is 100k but they'll be nowhere close to that. I'm guessing in the 50 to 60k range but it might be lower than that given how little buzz this seems to have.
Just saw their post on IG saying 1 month to go and it really hit me. I'd love to get the schedule by the 15th but I reckon it will be nearer the 18th (hopefully).

The fomo for this is hitting so hard rn, I just don’t think I can swing it between the cost and the fact that international solo travel is very mentally difficult (at least for me).

Kinda makes me wonder if they don't drop the schedule the 15th to coincide.
I think they haven't announced that line-up yet so I'd say there are enough surprises as it is. Besides, the set times generate enough buzz to kill the atmosphere for the atendees and Matadero is such a cool venue to ruin the shows so blatantly. My guess is that they're announcing the Ciutat details this week, next one is for Ciutat tickets/reservations, Boiler Room line-up and Matadero line-up and the set times go out on the 18th exactly 2 weeks before the festival.

yeah, for this festival particularly, schedule release is usually more of a bummer than something to celebrate
It's the day you finally discover what bands you're seeing and it's the day you finally discover what bands you're not seeing. But overall being able to have a complete look to each day's schedule beats the downfall of the clashes.
I was pretty happy with last year's schedule actually tbh, though we had the luxury of going two weekends so we could kind of split some things for acts that played both.
Yeah, Madrid x 2 weekend will help with that for me. There's definitely acts I will see both weekends but I'm looking for fresh experiences.
Also curious to see how the Auditori shows shake out in MAD. There's not an indoor spot at the Ciudad del Rock. PS has said those will be daytime programming at a theatre in the city. I'll probably miss out on a double heaping of Boris and Swans though.
Bingo. If you do full sets you're gonna be missing a lot of other bands. It's one of the downfalls of a good lineup.
comparable to Coachella?
For me PS was worse. The tents are a bit closer at Coachella, I feel. So it wasn't too bad hopping those but running from one end to the main stage sucked.
PS is less real estate but the stages are more spread out.
This was last years map to give you an idea. No telling what's instore for this year as they've gotten rid of the BITS/Beach area.
Woah, I've been doing Primavera for ten years and I can't think of any single year the Coachella schedule didn't look like someone just randomly put acts together. I guess the fact it starts and ends so early taints a little bit the overall look. Nevertheless Primavera 2022 schedule was the worst for me and I guess nothing will ever come close to 2018.
