Sub at best. She played in 2021 so despite the new album it might seem like too soon. But then again there seems to be a pool of acts that pop up every other year for the fest now.
Very likely will be heading back this year with my brother; hopefully I don't inadvertently put work first like an idiot again. I'm still bummed about missing last year's great lineup.

Hoping we can get some Coachella second-line crossover to this lineup. Not delusional enough to hope for Chems or Jai Paul but each of the subs feels somewhat in the realm of possibility

You thinking Bjork or Rosalia or both? Didn't look for conflicts, but could see one of them with either Bikini Kill or Le Tigre headlining. A Bjork, Le Tigre, Yeah Yeah Yeahs Pitchfork would be hard not turn down.
Probably too soon anyways but looks like Big Thief are out…

Although being in the Midwest with no Chicago date is suspicious…it’s after Pitchfork so I’m guessing like Wicker Park Fest headliner?
Yeah and with the dates confirmed for the festival it wouldn’t make sense for them to come to the Midwest for P4K, leave and then come back to the Midwest a week later IMHO.
If anything those dates make Big Thief likely. They are open both potential weekends.
With Pitchfork’s budget very obviously deteriorating year over year, I wouldn't be surprised if Big Thief headlined this thing with Flaming Lips and Smokey Robinson.
I miss the years of Tribe Called Quest / LCD Soundsystem / Lauryn Hill
How likely do we actually think boygenius is headlining this thing? I know it’s a separate project but even then it still feels a bit too soon with Lucy having played last year and Phoebe in 2021. Plus I feel that tour will be better suited in an indoor venue.

I disagree with this; the top lines have always gone back and forth in size. Off the top of my head for example it felt like such a huge leap when they went from Feist/Godspeed/Vampire Weekend in 2012 to Bjork/R Kelly/Belle and Sebastian in 2013 and a lot of people complained it was a downgrade when they booked Beach House as a headliner in 2016. even in 2017, though they had had big headliners with Tribe/LCD/Solange, Dirty Projectors and Nicolas Jaar weren't exactly huge subs.
