Rastafari is a literal interpretation of the Old Testament in a biblical sense. Early on, a lot of reggae stars were rastafari. It’s why they have dreads and don’t shave, it’s the reason they smoke weed, and sadly, the reason why more than a few of them are homophobic.
These days there seems to be some shifting away from that stance but it is still there. You don’t have to look much further than the current crop of dancehall to see it. Bottom line, they’re assholes. What’s worse is they’re assholes with shitty music.

True. But it’s real and it exists. They have long been rumors that Bad Brains (of you like them) are the same way. Nothing that can be verified but it’s out there.
Dead Kennedys made a song called Nazi Punks Fuck Off because there are apparently such a thing as nazi punks.
Those were mostly skinheads. So trolls who had an alternative ethos to the one musical movement that brought tolerance and acceptance of everyone to the table and an abolition of bullshit, patriarchal values. We didn't consider any of them punks. They were skins or nazis. And of course you never wanted to confuse a bald headed punk of being a skin because that was usually fighting words.
