I’m about to go to sleep but after only 1 out of 4 white genres getting eliminated, reggae is leading the votes for now. I don’t want to spoil shit for the ignorant, so I’ll shut up until I wake up.

Fruit juice includes orange juice. I don't drink a ton of orange juice but I do occasionally really enjoy a glass with breakfast. Definitely drinks in here worse than fruit juice.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Why's it gotta be like this? I don't want blues or hyperpop to go. 😭
I think it could be time to consider country tbh. Dolly & Johnny can only do so much to counteract the massive pile of shit that is >98% of country music, especially these days.

Well, fellow olds. I’m on hyperpop because the numbers are there so far, but I could just as easily go with house or techno.
I’m sorry but you’re literally going to have to change your username. You simply cannot advertise yourself as An Ambassador of Fun whilst trying to get people to vote off three of the most fun genres we have on the board….

Ah, you kids. Once you reach a certain age, you will have fun in different ways. Crossword puzzles, walks in the mall before the stores open, buttrock, chicken pot pie at 4:30 PM…. These sorts of things. You’re going to love it.

Yeah I wish it was split a little like rock is. There is some really good country out there but so much terrible shit. I can't bring myself to vote out jason isbell and dolly yet though.
Why do we need hardcore when we have good old fashioned punk?

I haven't voted yet. I'm waiting this round, but I'm 100% down to vote country.
My stepfather, Ike, loved country. He would blast Dwight Yoakam's, It Won't Hurt at top volume when I was a kid. I'd rather be beaten than listen to that fucking song ever again.
There's country I like, but there's more country I don't like.

I went through a HUGE alt-country phase in the late '90s. When I was studying abroad in Madrid, I bought a Eurorail pass so I could go visit my friend in Bologna, Italy It was a 32-hour train ride. Another friend in the program with me gave me a tape he'd made of two Uncle Tupelo albums - Side A was No Depression, Side B was Still Feel Gone.
I listened to pretty much nothing else during the entirety of that trip, and dove deep into the whole No Depression-era mini-boom of bands that blended crunch and twang. Like....
The Old 97s!
The Bottle Rockets!
The Honeydogs!
The Ass Ponys!
And, of course, the UT offshoots Son Volt...
...and Wilco, who were much more country at the start than they'd become.
I plan on taking all these acts into account when deciding whether to vote for both alternative AND country.
EDITED TO ADD: I left out Whiskeytown/Ryan Adams, both of which I LOVED back then, but he's a total piece of shit, so I don't see the need to highlight his work at the moment.
