i go every year because we're already in newport and its not like this is my main festival event or anything but still, it'd be nice if they got back to where they were a few years ago
20th anniversary of MMJ’s “It Still Moves” would make a pretty solid headlining option given today’s tour announcement.
looking at their tour, they hardly ever even play back to back shows, let alone back to back to back shows where the first show is 8+ hours away from the second. still technically possible though.
I’m surprised nobody is complaining that we haven’t gotten a single Quad Stage collaboration cover set announced yet. The spirit of Newport is missing so far.
Edit: I’m wrong, I guess Dawn Landes and Friends is sort of one.

I'm still excited for 3 days of music in a beautiful location and maybe I'll find a new favorite like 2017 when Matt The Electrician was the 2nd best set I saw all weekend after Speak Out.
I was listening to Mereba last night and I'm excited to see her.
Probably at least 3-4 acts a day I'm excited about and that's enough for me.

July 16 - CAKE (Portland, ME) July 28-30 - Newport Folk (#12!) Dec 8-9 - Goosemas!

It doesn’t help that almost all the biggest acts announced so far are repeats (Nickel Creek, Jason Isbell, Maggie Rogers, Billy Strings, Goose, Caamp).
