Just got off the waiting list for two Friday only tickets. Signed up one hour after on sale started so you can all have an idea where you may be in line.
Congrats!
I signed up for 3 day passes 1 millisecond after the sale and still nothing. Any 3 day pass waitlist data points?
Same here. I did change the request from 4 tix to 2 about two months ago, which i assumed/hoped wouldn't kick me to the back of the line but could've impacted things somehow. Luckily a friend came through with an extra ticket so i'm all set now, but i'm still technically on the waitlist since about a second after the onsale and haven't heard anything at all (and don't know anyone who has)

People have heard conflicting things from Dice over the years, but the recent consensus seems to be that changing # of tickets requested does boot you to the back

still in line for 2x 3 day passes - i got the waitlist confirmation 2 minutes after onsale. Wondering if there are just a lot of people are still on the waitlist even if they have found tickets otherwise or decided against coming and thats why its moving slow. I think once a set comes through they have to wait 18-24 hours before re-releasing it to the next person.

Yeah last year when it got close to the fest they changed the ticker to like 30 minutes if I remember correctly.
Released 4 Friday only tickets this morning and two have been taken. I’m assuming the other two are on the clock. Still hoping to get 2 for Sunday as I was on the waitlist in less than a minute.
Really appreciate the Waiting list updates. Lack of transparency from Dice is frustrating, but this gives a sense. I have waiting list confirmations from 4 minutes after sale for both Sat&Sun 2 day and Sat 1 day. Still waiting.

There is just no way they're going in any discernible order. We have friends who signed up for singles basically at the moment of onsale. Really disappointing. They can give you a general idea of where you stand (can't you do it by percentile? You're in the 90th percentile, 99th percentile, etc.?) and I don't understand why they won't.

Third Friday only ticket was purchased yesterday. Still waiting to be notified about the fourth ticket. I suspect the situation with tickets will become increasingly chaotic as we get closer to the festival.
I could probably look this up but does the schedule always come out with the same lead time every year? I think it was only a week or two before the festival last year, but even 1 vs 2 weeks is a big difference and I don’t remember which it was. (Sidenote: I wish the schedule came out earlier, haha)

I don’t think there’s a specific day/date for the schedule drop that we look forward to. I seem to remember 2 weeks last year, but could be wrong. During the 2021 Folk Event, it was only like a day or two before, so they’ve definitely pushed the envelope (even though that year was an anomaly). I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw it end of next week; I also wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see it until a day or two before. (Really hoping not the latter.)
It looks like they finally took Orville Peck off the website lineup. So maybe they are gearing up to announce either his replacement or drop the schedule with a different name on it.

Schedule was released via app on July 13th last year so we have to be close. Jay did an Instagram Q&A the day before.

Speaking of unofficial/official Newport events, this unofficial afterparty looks great. I already have tickets to the one at Parlor Bar for this night, but probably would have gone to this if I didn't. Should be a fun option for people who got shut out from the official afterparties for Friday night.
New Heavy MakeUp song is fantastic. Reminds me of LUMP.
I was already worried about having conflicts galore on Friday and open space on (maybe) Sat and (especially) Sunday. This does not help.
Here’s the new official bio for Heavy MakeUp on Spotify now that they have a song up:
“ Heavy MakeUp is a dynamic musical trio made up of Edie Brickell, CJ Camerieri and Trever Hagen, who have come together to meld their shared curiosities through voice, synths, drum machine, and brass. From their first face-to-face encounter in 2022, the group clearly had musical chemistry and spent three days improvising in an apartment, recording everything they played—not knowing they were beginning to make an album or, for that matter, a band. But the melodies were insistent, and the recordings were undeniable. The band formed while following the music, producing their self-titled album, “Heavy MakeUp.””

Question for those who have done it before - if you're on the waiting list for tickets to the festival and your turn comes up does it automatically charge you or do they shoot you a notification and see if you still want the tickets or if they should go to the next person? Had someone asking questions about which list would maybe be the shortest wait time and I wasn't sure a good answer but figured if you can choose to not get the tickets when your turn is up then why not sign up for any of them and see what comes up first?
Edit: Never mind, found the info on the site.
4. As soon as the tickets have been accepted by a buyer, a refund is processed for the fan who returned them.
Your position on the waiting list depends on when you joined and how many tickets you requested – kind of like when you’re queuing for a restaurant that doesn’t take reservations. If you only request one or two tickets, you’re more likely to get sorted out first.

I hate this almost as much as I hate not knowing your place in line.
There should be a single line. If you request 3 tickets, you should get 3 spots in line. When you move to the front of the line, if only single ticket gets returned, you should be given the following options:
“You requested 3 tickets and 1 ticket is currently available. Would you like to purchase it now? You will remain at the front of the line to purchase more as they become available.”
“You may decline but choose to wait until 3 tickets become available.”
“You may decline and get out of the queue.”
It’s not that difficult to implement and it still puts all risk on the buyer (rather than the seller or the platform).
That said, I get their restaurant analogy a little more when it’s a seated venue, so maybe that’s why there’s some discrepancy. (Most people probably don’t want 3 seats apart from one another.) But I’ve also never really seen ticket queues like this for seated venues. Still would be an easy solution for GA events or GA tickets/requests.
