Who are the two buttheads voting for techno, I just want to talk.
As in all survivors we're just slowly whittling down the fun. Inforooers want a world where we only drink water, only eat taco bell, and only listen to Real Estate's first album.

I'm still not over the fact y'all think water is the best drink lol.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Why do you guys go to rock music festivals? Why do you post here on this board?
I go to music festivals because I have a lot of disposable income and no idea what I would do with it otherwise, I post on this board because I hate myself.
Ambient as a genre is way more influential (and still is) to other genres, has way more variety and depth than bluegrass. Like you could listen to some rainforest-type music, straight up horror-esk drone and post-industrial, melancholic techno or transcending jazz and even stuff like vaporwave and you could allll pretty much dial it back to Brian Eno (and artists before him). Like I can't imagine classical music made today not being influenced by the genre. You have new age, krautrock, ambient dub and techno, downtempo, triphop and Berlin School either coming off of it influencing loads of electronic music spanning as far as Kraftwerk and loads of jazz-artists.

I haven’t seen anyone make an argument to why bluegrass should be here
Bluegrass musicians are all incredibly talented. I’ve never seen a bluegrass band that weren’t all amazing at their instruments. Also I love sad songs.

When I was in Nashville post-Bonnaroo cancellation I went to the bluegrass jam on Sunday at the Station Inn and it was a lot of fun. In the right hands, there's a lot of technical complexity which gives you a lot to listen to, but in a way that never feels forced or overbearing.

i really enjoy bluegrass, but trying to talk people into liking music they don’t?[br
You don’t have to talk people into liking it but you should probably give a case for why it should stay if you want it to stay. I don’t recall seeing that until I just asked. Not talking specifically you here, using it in the broader sense.
fwiw I like bluegrass but do think it’s worse than every genre here + some that have already gone out.

I think most of the haters just haven’t listened to a lot of bluegrass.
My ex-wife loves bluegrass. I've been to like a dozen Felice Brothers concerts over the course of our relationship. I...tried...so much...to like it...and...I couldn't. I could APPRECIATE the technique but I couldn't love it.
