i notice for me at least tolerance builds very fast, first time i smoked in cali it was like 30% and had me blitzed, by the end of the weekend i was able to smoke two back to back and feel buzzed. most weed in MA ranges from 17-22% so i never get extremely high, always very pleasant and mellowing. its only homemade edibles that seem to really fuck me up and make me unpleasantly high

Idk if this is a thing or not, but I feel like there would be a market out there for weak ass stuff at dispensaries. When we were in Denver, I even bought the gummies that were 50% CBD and 50% THC because I wanted it to be weaker. It was still almost too much.
I walked into the dispensary in Seattle and said "give me your weakest shit" and the guy just laughed. Ended up with 18% THC prerolls lol. When it comes to weed I'd rather pace it more like pounding cheap beers as opposed to shots of liquor. I dont smoke very often and I really don't enjoy getting blitzed like I used to, except for certain scenarios.
Exactly. I'd prefer to smoke a full joint or bowl of shitty shitty shit shit and get functionally high. Rather that than 1-2 drags and I'm obliterated for 6 hours. So I just don't smoke anymore. Killing my liver with beer instead
I def have a preference for a lower THC% as well. Too much and like others I'm just paranoid and incapacitated. I like to stay in the "can carry a conversation" zone unless I'm with people I'm super comfortable with. It's easier if I've had some CBD beforehand since it tampers down some of THC's unpleasantness.
A few weeks ago I had my first full-blown weed anxiety attack in a long time though; did too big of a dab and ended up full fetal position under my weighted blanket. In some ways it was productive though, I ended up making some notes for my next therapy session because the things that tend to come up forcefully when I smoke too much are things that need untangling in my psyche. It's crazy though how much being legally allowed to smoke also lessens potential anxiety; I don't have to worry about cops and shit and can just smoke a J while walking to Dominos. If I get in my head now it's just dumb shit and not actual life-altering consequences.
If I'm in a really good mood and hanging on my own though I'll sometimes go heavy and just let myself be a loon for a little bit. It's still a bit of a coin flip but it's nice to just lay on the ground with my head next to my amp strumming a couple chords and letting it tickle my brain.

THC percentage typically doesn't matter much because there's a load of other cannabinoids in there as well. I shop with my eye gimme the prettiest flower

Just got back from Colorado. My 3rd time being at a legit dispensary. I love just having the options and the ease of it all is everything I wanted as a teen. I used to be a high school stoner who would think "I just wish I could walk into the gas station and buy a pack of joints like people buy cigarettes" and now that's reality.
Got some pre rolls and gummies. Idk if I have something with my body but edibles don't seem to usually make me feel too crazy. I downed a ton of 10mg gummies throughout a few days. Gotta experiment more with those, though.
Prerolls were nice. If I wasn't staying at family house with toddlers running around and if I wasn't flying I'd maybe get flower but prerolls made it easier for personal use and red rocks concerts.
Got some variety of indica, sativa, and hybrids. Also tried my first infused joint Kaviar. Was interesting but not mindblowing. Would like to try again.
I need NY to get their shit together. I'm planning a 3 hour day trip to Massachusetts soon simply to go to a dispensary and then like get lunch somewhere and drive 3 hours back home lol.
I've never been to a dispensary. I feel so sheltered.
First time was a family visit to Colorado and my uncle and I went. Also got some gummies and pre-rolls. We were in and out in 15 minutes but it was mindblowing just how many different THC and CBD infused things I could get. Chocolates, gummies, soda, sprays, topical creams, etc. All that junk. They handed me a menu like at a restaurant for Indica/Sativa/Hybrid options for pre-rolls. Usually two sizes (.5g and 1g) unless you got some bigger or smaller pack options.
It was wild and everything I wanted as a teen lol.
Then hit up Massachusetts towards the end of Newport Folk weekend and grabbed a variety of stuff. Wasn't as impressed as the CO one but it's also much newer there. Still better than "whatever I can get" from my guy.
Then this past colorado trip I did what I said above. Gummies and pre-rolls. It's nice having everything prepared and all that. Especially while traveling. If I lived in CO I'd probably do more flower and rolling/pipes on my own. Especially when you consider that some of the sketchier places have people licking to close the prerolls so you never know who you're sharing germs with haha.
If you get to a legal state in the near future and they have recreational places you should hit it up. It's overwhelming having so much choice.

I was at my first dispensary a week ago. The prices are a little high and selection seems low out of need to make rent. (hypothetically they shouldn't be open other than having a license as a business, and the cops aren't going to raid places - it's a terrible look). We picked up for pre-rolls with keef and when I was lifted already that 2nd j was beautiful.
Also I ran out of pen wax and just needed something to get by for a work week and it had like 10 selections.
If prices drop and quantity of purchase increases my guy is gonna have to find a job at one of these places.

I was completely off it from late December until Bonnaroo thanks to the baby and the fact that being high usually zonks me out enough that I'd be worried about being able to contribute with late-night wake-ups and the like. Somehow, that period of abstinence has made my tolerance level shoot waaaaay up. I noticed at Roo that I was needing to take more hits than I used to before feeling anything, but I just chalked it up to the setting and circumstances. I've had the opportunity to indulge a couple of times since then, though, and each time, it's been the same. I personally feel like when I am out at a concert, out and about or being active it doesn't hit me as hard and I have to up my usage. I don't know if its because I am into the music or walking/dancing/moving more or what. But at home I get way higher when I am just lounging on the couch every time.
Peaches Saturday, I smoke two Js and ate a gummy before heading out and I felt pretty sober throughout the whole show. It took me getting home, smoking more to actually feel the effects.

There is seemingly no rhyme or reason for me as far as intoxication goes. Sometimes it's a hit or two, sometimes it's a J or two, sometimes I feel like I could smoke til my eyes bleed before I'm high lol

Had nothing to do today so took the 3 hour drive up to Mass. from NY to get some legal bud. Found the closest dispensary from a CT Border and picked up a bunch of pre-rolls, some flower 1/8's and a pack of gummies. Until NY gets their shit together I will probably make a trip every now and then like this.
I developed a short-lived obsession with mapping cannabis strain lineages recently and thought some of you might enjoy weeding through what I imagine is one of the more chaotic maps you’ve seen in quite some time.
I’m still working on it periodically to add strains and try to make it more readable; if there’s anything you want me to add I can look it up.
Also full disclaimer to take a giant grain of salt with some of these; other than some stuff I know for my company’s strains, most of the data was gathered from Leafly and isn’t verifiable. There’s also no regulation on strain names so between that and the whole industry being underground for so long, a lot has been lost or given apocryphal origins.

We in NY need pure dispensaries in this area, because the big tobacco/business is obviously taking structure. I went to a new weed convenience store where I'd trust the CBD, but the weed was weak.
It is also name leased by Bambu Rolling papers, aka Miguel y Costas & Miguel, S.A, a company around since 1725. They are using there presence of name to profit before the real ones can grow. And I mean this store popped up in 3 months fully stocked, the tobacco game is not playing.

I had a strain of weed that literally made me think I had covid. My throat would get sore, my body temp would rise and I would get crazy paranoid. So much that thejeremy literally would not let me smoke that strain anymore. So yeah that is definitely a thing.
As far as weed hangovers, usually get those like the day after Mardi Gras or Halloween when I am chomping down on edibles like candy all while smoking weed like a chimney. It takes a lot and those are rare, but I do get them.

I just got this little guy recently. Wanted another flower/bud vaporizer and this one is nice and portable sized. I have another one I have used but it's a bit bulkier. This little guy has a small chamber just enough to do a quick vape session. Going to take this guy on the road. Have used it a couple of times so far.
Was not bad for $119 with free shipping, plus getting a free accessory (either a water pipe/bong attachment which I didn't need, a bent glass tube mouthpiece, or a grinder - I got the bent glass piece).

itrainmonkeys looks nice - does it do direct flower or wax? That's my huge trade off right now finding a device for me.
I will also say it's really fucking annoying being out here in the city with a shit ton of tobacco choices but all the flower options are just 2nd blown glass that jams and breaks within a time limit? As you can tell 120$ is an investment and I've watched too many people go down tech rabbit holes and come up with weak devices

@gno It's mostly direct flower but it comes with a mesh thing for I think some form of liquid or dabs/wax? I don't really know as I'm still pretty clueless on those things. But definitely comes with a piece that you can put in the chamber for other things. I primarily was planning to use it for flower so that's why I grabbed it but it seems something else can be used.
