Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Before I read all these comments I am going to be controversy...Pizza is just ok. I like thin crust the best and will always eat pizza if offered, but I don't think I have ever had a pizza that made me go, I could eat that everyday. Idk there are so many better foods.
Nah tomato pie is good. I understand the hesitance but it makes for a really good snack to put on a table with other appetizers. Like hot nachos are great but chips and salsa is pretty damn good too.
I love this idea that pizza could be an appetizer. Sign me up!

Have years of commercials for Bagel Bites taught you nothing?! You can have it any time!
It’s a very thin and crispy crust, the crust is basically a cracker. Sauce is typically on the sweeter side because we use our special Provel cheese, which is a tangy and creamier cheese that basically sticks to the roof of your mouth. The slices are always cut into squares.
The most popular St. Louis style comes from Imo’s, but personally I think there are much better options.

It’s an acquired taste. I like it but remember not liking it when I was little. Worth going into with an open mind but a lot of people have a very strong distaste for STL style pizza.

Agreed. People definitely don’t understand it at first, especially out of towners. I think the best way to eat it, especially IMO’s, is like room temperature. If it’s too hot, everything just melts off.
After 2 years living here, I've been super impressed with Bay Area pizza. A bunch of great choices in SF, Berkeley and Oakland.
Moved up here from LA, lived in New Haven, went to NYC monthly (for pizza) and had it all over Italy, so standards are pretty high.
Wholeheartedly recommend Cellarmaker, Tony's, Golden Boy, Cheese Board, Gioia and Mama's Boy.
Interesting. Things must have changed (or just tastes are different). My sister and BIL lived in the Bay Area for 6 years and struggled with pizza. They found one place that they liked, but it was super expensive and not close. They lived in Oakland, Alameda, and San Leandro during that time. I don't know how often they went into SF for pizza though.

Know which place they liked? Agree that prices are stupid here. Cheese Board being the only affordable one from my list.
So far I've enjoyed Nick's in North Oakland and Zachary's deep dish in Rockridge. Definitely both expensive though. Need to find a good and cheap NY style place

I texted her and the first one she said she mentioned liking was indeed Cheese Board. She said there was a place in Oakland she can't remember and a place on Main St in Alameda that did expensive, but pretty good slices. It's the last one she thinks is the one I am thinking of.
