There’s just slight tweaks in stats. I don’t think it would be a big deal to be a wood elf for your character backstory and leave stats as is? But I’ve never DMed not sure if it would make a difference.
What’s going on? I can try to help
Could be user error but when I went in to fill out Ang's info I couldn't get the character sheet to except Wood Elf as an option... so I made her a high elf. It didn't effect much stats wise because she makes up for the Wood Elf bonus in wisdom with a good roll. Dex is the same. She just wanted to be a Wood Elf.
So I was thinking she could just play a Wood Elf character with her stats as is? I don't think leveling up would be effected much?
Did you guys use the charactermancer option when creating the roll20 sheet?
I’m not certain but I think so. I saw that name as I was filling it in but I can’t say for sure if I hit that option? She had already filled in some character history stuff when I transferred the rest over.
I can reenter every If that’s an option. Not a big deal.

Gotcha. I’m at work rn but when I get home I’ll check and see what’s up. I can’t think of any reason why it wouldn’t accept a Wood elf, we had one in a campaign I was in a year or so ago.

As always with new things I have to do it the hard way until I suddenly realize there's no way something easier isn't available.
So after manually adding weapons and spells I figured out you can use the compendium and just search and drag things over to the appropriate box. lol
So just an FYI, if you aren't using the Charactermancer or during the campaign when you pick up new items and/or abilities you can save time that way.
Just look at the top of the right column and pick the compendium icon(4th from the left, next to the journal). Search for whatever it is you're looking for. A weapon or a spell. Then just drag it over to your character sheet and drop it in place. You might have to copy/paste descriptions but it tends to do most of that.
BTW, Ang is going to be a badass druid that can put an arrow up a troll's nose with her eyes closed.
I'll definitely watch a Chris Pine movie/show, he's a good actor, there's something about him that just annoys me. The more stuff I watch with him in it that's good, the more I like him. I wish that was the case with Leonardo DiCrapio. Regardless of him being a great actor, it's the opposite, I dislike him more the more shows/movies I see him in. 🤣😂

I'm continually sorry that my evenings/nights have gotten busy or distracting and I've fallen behind on this. I really want to participate but at this point I won't be available until after the new year. Family stuff, work stuff, house stuff, personal issues, etc. have gotten in the way. Don't wait for me but hopefully I can get in the swing of things when 2023 starts (or at the very least get on the next campaign if this first one works out).

Don’t stress — I haven’t hard internet for a few days and didn’t plan on starting anything until after the new year as my sister is staying with me. If we get going and you wanna try to jump in later that’s ok with me. I’m open to people playing side characters and what not.

And that’s for anyone. If we get started and it’s too much, I’ll write you out so that you can always come back. Or if you wanna join later I’ll write you in like whenever you have the time to play. Just need a core group for consistency and stuff etc
I just want anyone interested to be able to play without feeling super pressured or anything bc it’s a fun game and I love watching people play

Thanks for the comments. I definitely want to be involved and will be less busy once New Year's is over. D&D has been something I've wanted to dip my toes into for a while so I am definitely interested. Just got lost in time with other things lately.
I remember watching the episodes of TV shows like Freaks & Geeks and Community and seeing how fun the whole thing looked and wanted to get involved. Just never really reached out to in person things (not too many friends I could convince to do it) so doing something like this feels like a great first run.

Why are you so amazing? 🥰
Was going to private message and say "Thank you for spearheading/organizing this" even if I can't get my shit together lol.

It can seem overwhelming at first. So much info and choices and fucking math. My first campaign I went into day 1 knowing very little of the mechanics of the game. It's honestly not a big deal. There's a fair amount of downtime between decisions and you'll pick up on a lot by just watching/listening to everyone else interreact with the DM. So don't feel like being busy and not having the time you wanted to prepare is going to put you in a bad spot. You'll pick up on things fast. And the DM probably won't put you in mortal danger right away... maybe.
