Holidays are rough for me scheduling wise, but if anyone's ever down for a one-shot drop me a line. I've been playing around two years, but have never tried my hand at DMing. I personally love DnD Beyond for all of my source management since it's Wizards of the Coast approved, but they don't have a map maker like Roll20 does.
Wow. I was having pretty good luck until charisma lol.
I think we're doing the take your scores and put them where you want. so your highest roll on the one you think you need the most, lowest in your dump categories

Ok, I'll figure out which one I'm punting then. The plus side was I'm already +2 at charisma because of my class. But yeah doesn't make sense for my character to have negative charisma.
That's what I did. I used roll20 so that it's in the chat, just to be extra honest.
One thing - when I added my ability scores to my roll20 sheet, the modifiers it generated were a little higher than the ones in the chart above. I couldn't find a way to edit them lower. They did match the ones in the video.
I'm guessing this is a setting the DM can adjust so that the modifier mapping matches.

I am def going to need further private instruction. I picked my class and race. And it came up with automatic scores for my abilities. Guessing I have to roll to modify the numbers that are coming up automatically. Sorry. I have never played any video game or game that involves setting up a character. So I'm the dumb one of the group. Which is funny because it seems the core traits of my character are all about being very intelligent. lol.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Unfortunately not able to hop on at 7 because we've got my sister coming by for dinner with the new baby so I'll be a bit busy. Tonight is just setting things up right? Not beginning the actual campaign?

Thanks to the help of SFA, I think my character sheet is mostly done?
it is. I might flip intelligence and constitution’s ability rolls since Druids don’t really use intelligence for magic and I don’t think this will be a big lore nerdfest. Just a regular nerdfest.
Can’t decide if it’s a bad idea or not but it’s filled out and ready unless you want to change some character background stuff. It changed a little cause I couldn’t find the option to make you a wood elf so you’re a fancy high elf.
I can post my (your) rolls from Beyond. Took a screenshot. But that’s when you are a wood elf so the race points are a little different now. Will look it over. Rolls are the same regardless

There’s just slight tweaks in stats. I don’t think it would be a big deal to be a wood elf for your character backstory and leave stats as is? But I’ve never DMed not sure if it would make a difference.

I'm sort of skipping over my background, idk I guess I want my guy to be as green and fresh as possible so im not going to already be in a guild or anything
