I’m with you on this tbh. Browell’s overexplanation voting for me just now (it doesn’t take some roundabout logic to see why one might throw a vote on me here after this whack so his depth of explanation feels off) makes me feel good about it being him in the runoff along w Jortles. Obviously I would prefer a two way final of them both, not me in it, bc I am not mafia but re: what you just laid out, I’d prefer Browell going forward over you
the explanation was simply so i didn’t throw a vote out there with nothing, didn’t really think that was a bad thing:
jortles reads for me are difficult, especially when the whole sharpshooter thing comes into play like this recent post about me/cum/cinci
i feel similarly to you that my two to look at are you and jortles, and i threw the vote on you for that reason and also to see your reaction (which makes me feel a bit better as of now). jortles fierce activity to start off this day worries me a bit

ok i have a thought here. it isnt all too common that 2 mafioso end up in the final runoff for day 1, but it certainly does happen. ive been maf in a game where it did. and our strategy became sorta: "well, one of us is gonna die so might as well throw votes on each other and hope distancing looks good for us later on."
im curious about the notion of cinci/jortles/? here. of course on the one hand, i dont want to dream about us being that lucky wherein we might've gotten a maf d1 and then a n1 whack that points so blatantly to another maf, but in reality--if it WERE cinci/jortles/? and they were genuinely worried that samp was inspo with jortles' name, they'd probably still opt to get rid of him despite how obvious the whack might look.

samp might be an awesome mafia player with a lot of good strategies idk, but he's definitely not someone who has enough interpersonal knowledge to drop subtle hints about people's activity or comment on the meta of recent games.
if he was inspector I would assume that he would be more pointed. he's not trying to do something like live til day 4 to own tranter or anything.

The otter thinks that we are finally getting somewhere. Jortles and you stick out like red thumbs at this point. I can’t see us getting better information for the time being.
So which way should I go? The last few jortles posts also strike me as very off-brand. I also had antennae on jortles early on, so I have some confirmation bias. Youre also very engaged and at least trying outwardly to be helpful (or misdirect us) and I can appreciate that.
As an aside, The one frustration I have about this game is that we tend to reward quieter folks in the early rounds, but that’s life and I don’t have a solution. I’ve also been in a position where I can’t devote much time to a game after I committed, so I’ve benefited as well. But I enjoy the banter and posts. Makes the game way more enjoyable.

you’re not wrong re: the quiet folks thing. It is why I’m often in runoffs Day 1 or 2 haha; even when town (which statistically I most often am, and this game I am), people can find more things to point at as potential Sus points in my, say, 40 posts over someone else’s 7 at that point.
Day 2 we do sometimes zoom in on a couple quieter folks especially if the whack doesn’t point us somewhere clearly. Teddy and you and Browell and Pinky would be the quiet ones here, IMO. You’re obviously not all maf. Probably not even two of them. Certainly probable one is.

I mean he’s right to question that being your primary reason to vote for someone—an early d1 vote. Especially when in a scenario where I was maf & given name, Samp seems an odd choice for whack. Dan was questioning like 4 things I did lol.
If someone is gonna vote for me, I’d assume it would be because whack points to Jortles. Not bc Samp threw an early d1 vote on me.

For anyone who didn’t play last game or doesn’t remember, this is not true.
Teddy did vote for tranter, but he also had a casual post saying “he is a known prankster.” And he also said he would switch but he was already on tranter. Three out of his 5 or 6 posts pointed to tranter in some way.

not sure how productive it’d be to say what i’m looking for before it happens. i’m mainly just succumbing to the fallacy otter mentioned where it’s easier to not question the more quiet people (teddy, dan).
