Everyone should note that Cum voted Cinci on Day one instead of me. She consistently was suss of Rummy on day 2 - not mentioning me as a major target of hers until... maybe 30 minutes ago. She switched from Rummy to me without explanation. Then ONLY in response to my recent posts that pressed her and told the story of my weekend she has finally expressed some level of suspicion towards me. Saying "Writings of a mad man" and that Ive been fluffing. This is within the last hour.
But now she's confident enough to casually refer to me as mafia jortles. This is obviously in response to me being suspicious of her and consistently pointing out the reasons for why I'm suspicious of her. But its so blatantly not genuine. It has nothing to do with her interpretation of the moves I've made in the game.
Really not that crazy of a theory. Perfect distancing opportunity for maf knowing the whack clearly point to jortles
i dont think the theory is crazy. but it would be hilarious to me, nonetheless. akin to when tranter and i were maf together for the first time in a while after multiple games in a row where we were at each other's throats. cum and jortles could be doing a bit here, for sure

Knowing I’m town and that you’re trying so hard to get people on me can only lead me to think you’re mafia. Especially when no matter what I say or do you’re going to come back at me with attitude to try and discredit me to others or intimidate me into thinking my vote is wrong. You say my “vibes are off” and I’m “acting differently” as a way to further prove I’m mafia but all you’re doing is trying to get a reaction out of me. So yeah, be gone thot

That timeline is correct but I produced more content in that timeframe than maybe everyone else put together. You had a ton to look at.

but in all seriousness - you really think it is me & jorts both as maf? It would be super stupid for us to verbally be chummy while my actual vote goes on him. Like, why bring all this attention upon ourselves only to then work to vote one of each other out? Idk it doesn't make sense to me, but I just hope you don't ride this theory into the sunset in Days to come.

I just realized my machinations were particularly pointless if I just renew my vote during the next round, but so it goes.
nothing much to comment on here - just sort of interesting that otter moved to extend (which i was advocating for, yes, so we didnt lose a round in d1), then immediately was like "oh no, this was pointless, so it goes." has an easy-breeziness to it that maybe stuck out to maf.
Otter I know I'm town and don't know what Jortles is so while self interest is involved it's a guaranteed good move for town if you save me.

I don’t know what beseech really means, but I kinda believe you. I also feel like I never have a good read on Jortles, so that’s probably tainting my viewpoint somewhat.
I’m going to my daughter’s holiday concert and will be off my phone for a little bit, but am selfishly (and foolishly) hoping for a lot of activity while I’m gone.
this is an interesting one bc as vanilla town i saw this post and was thinking like "hmm so is he waiting to see what happens to a teammate in the runoff, or how a teammate reacts/potentially moves, or...." and then "or..." alternative is that he could be inspo waiting to see what happens in the runoff because his given is in it. from the above post, it would seem maf would be more worried that was jortles than cinci, but he also could've been playing nice w given (cinci) here w the whole "i kinda believe you," etc.
i just scrolled up to reread it and the post was actually not long, but it did just sort of gesture towards some opinions and then not do anything w them.
The otter thinks that we are finally getting somewhere. Jortles and you stick out like red thumbs at this point. I can’t see us getting better information for the time being.
So which way should I go? The last few jortles posts also strike me as very off-brand. I also had antennae on jortles early on, so I have some confirmation bias. Youre also very engaged and at least trying outwardly to be helpful (or misdirect us) and I can appreciate that.
As an aside, The one frustration I have about this game is that we tend to reward quieter folks in the early rounds, but that’s life and I don’t have a solution. I’ve also been in a position where I can’t devote much time to a game after I committed, so I’ve benefited as well. But I enjoy the banter and posts. Makes the game way more enjoyable.
jortles was mafia. 100%. maf whacking otter n2 just points at an already dead mafioso, so it doesnt have much risk to them at all. the samp whack DID have risk, but they couldnt keep someone alive who they genuinely thought was inspo just because it pointed so directly at one of their own (jortles). at this point, maf is clearly just banking on keeping their other two well hidden.

with jortles dead and in my mind more or less confirmed maf with this otter whack on top of the samp one, my inclination is to look at those who didnt vote for him here. but at the same time, it feels likely that one of his teammates would have opted to NOT vote for him -- knowing that they were going into d2 with the samp whack pointing so directly at jortles. distancing would be key there. could honestly be that both teammates were on him here.
