For the new round are y’all gonna upvote based purely on the effectiveness with which a song would kill a Victorian Child, or just your favorite songs in the playlist (given that they still fit the category)
i think for all rounds people should balance both (pertinence to prompt/theme + personal tastes), but in this one in particular i think the former should be weighed heavily.
i'm not the hugest death metal fan, but if there's a super slaughter-happy song in that genre on here, i will definitely consider effectiveness of selection as much as if not more than personal preference.
Who’s in that other group I joined? I only knew the song I posted and Breezeblocks. It made me really have to think about my vote.

it just a few inforoo folks & then a solid handful of randos!
i sent it to some inforoo ppl who didn't make it into this League in time (Capital Cincy , steponsampras , a couple others who didnt join that one in time too sadly haha - the randos hopped on quickly!) + then with just a few slots left, i posted it in our WhatsApp group chat to open it up to those folks too.
but yeah, most people on there aren't people we know which is fun I am pretty pleased with the first round in terms of them mostly being not very well known artists/songs which was my intention for the League's overall theme.
my fave discoveries from first round of that one were probably these two:
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Cool. I guess my pick was too well known because it’s not doing well at all. I added one of them on Facebook, I think it’s the song that’s leading right now.

Sorry if I jumped in too quickly and took a slot that was meant for someone else! I am kind of hooked on Music League now, so I got excited, especially given the theme (I knew only a couple of the songs or artists in the first playlist at all, and that's awesome).

i stg if mine doesnt win this round. fits the prompt perfectly
I don’t really know what it means so I went heavy and evil.
I originally thought sadness lol. Like sad songs that would kill a delicate child with TB because it would make them so, so sad. But it seems heavy is more what folks are thinking. I actually found a playlist of a similiar title and it had Grimes on it, so idkwtf anymore.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
yeah, i rly like that song but didnt vote it because it didn't fit the theme as well, IMO. but it is just first round! now you can adjust for future ones

I also had another idea for a league, something that could run simultaneously with the normal music league, where every week you would submit a song that came out in the last week. Would there be any interest in that?

I didn’t even vote for Maiden or NIN because those songs aren’t brutal enough.
i didn't vote for either of those either because i thought they were odd choices from both bands who have way more violent/brutal sounding songs that could've been selected IMO. that NIN song is just sexy to me, tbh.
