I honestly don't see too many advantages to this setup over a standard non-festival bill. I only went for the one day but it was essentially just an LCD Soundsystem concert with abnormally good openers
Would definitely go again if they booked an LCD level act, but all other things being equal probably would rather see a band like that at Pitchfork or something with a few more amenities/stages
Also a bit salty that I could've easily purchased a ticket for this at like half the cost I paid through the presale but lesson learned for next year I guess!

Jamie and LCD were great Saturday in Cbus. God I want them both at Roo again. I was impressed with the size of the crowd - way more people than when they had Tame Impala in that festival setup about a year ago. Didn't get there until right before Jamie XX due to staying at Comfest but still feel like it was worth it despite paying full price. Will not make that mistake again though and if by some miracle this returns I will be waiting until the week of to buy.

The Tame show was delayed like 4 hours by rain, it was a complete sellout. LCD had maybe half as many as Boygenius had the night before.
Damn, didn’t realize it did so poorly outside of NYC. All three days did well here it seemed.
I mean Ny and Sf were in proper venues. Everything else was a park and some were not in ideal places either. If all of them were in city centers with ease to public transport you def wouldve had respectable attendance. And I think people just didnt get the idea and such.

I think the idea of this festival was pretty sound and the logistics looked great on paper. Maybe a different time of year when they aren't getting rained out and a different lineup would make it a bit more successful. I enjoyed the San Diego location quite a bit so I hope it comes back.
Any word yet on whether AEG is doing this again in 2024?
If they are, my dream four artist run is Wilco / Wednesday / MJ Lenderman and the Wind / Rosali (It's a stylistic fit, and Wilco has already booked Wednesday at their band-curated Solid Sound Fest this year)

No official word but as discussed it sold poorly in most cities so it’s doubtful it returns in the same form or at all.

Maybe some genre changes are in order, then. They leaned heavily into progressive R&B / pop / dance throughout the three days. Good music, but something leaning more Indie Rock/Americana for three days or Rap for three days might fare better. It may not have been the format as much as the particular artists.
In hindsight, Steve Lacy probably wasn't big enough to headline this event, and LCD Soundsystem may now be moving fewer tickets than they did right after the initial reunion. That first tour back after a hiatus or breakup usually sells more tickets than a third or fourth return to a market a few years down the road.
