i want my wife to watch this show sooooo bad. we watched the first episode together when it aired and she was bored too tears. i moved forward and have regret for her every episode that she didn't stick with it. i know she would love it, it's just really hard to get her back into a show once she's made her mind up.

Haven’t read the thread because of spoilers but just finished season two and really was not a fan. Feel like they like they lost the plot and everything was very far-fetched.

If the season 2 finale didn't wreck you emotionally then maybe the show just isn't for you lol
It is far-fetched if you place their events into our timeline but that's sorta the point. It's alternate history and the further they get from 69 the more far fetched it will become.

Season 1 crushed me so that’s why I have mixed feelings right now. I liked certain aspects of S2, namely Molly’s storyline. I want more Dani, Aleida, and Ellen always. Also more Wayne. But the latter half of S2 was so focused on militarization/violence. The main scene in the finale with Ed was a little ridic to me.

keep going with season 3, there is a little bit of a tonal shift that you might appreciate.

so yeah S2 finale completely wrecked me. star-crossed lovers who are complete emotional and mental wrecks pull themselves together enough to walk across the moon wrapped in duct tape sacrificing themselves to save the lives of others? yeah i was a blubbering pool of snot and drool and tears.
a lot of times when people complain about S2 it's because of Karen/Danny. BUT THOSE PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND KAREN LIKE I DO THEY DON'T APPRECIATE THE PAIN SHE WENT THROUGH AND MAYBE SHE WASN'T TOTALLY IN HER RIGHT MIND, AND MAYBE THATS NOT FAIR TO DANNY BUT KAREN IS SMART AND BEAUTIFUL AND TOUGH AND I CAN FIX HER.
but if you loved S1, I think you at least owe it to yourself to give S3 a shot. maybe even just the first episode, see if it gives you that old feeling you got in season one. S3 is exhilarating and frustrating and melodramatic and wild as fuck. Karen's hair in S3 is also amazing.

100% will be continuing onto season 3. Karen’s little monologue about grey areas was one of my favorite scenes of the season.

holy crap just made the connection that my man main Arkady (Lev Gorn) is in FAM lol. i knew there was a reason i liked him in the americans almost immediately.
this might be the ticket to get my wife to give FAM another shot. we loved Arkady.
I am still chugging away at my rewatch. I’m a little past halfway thru S2. The show is even better watching it a second time. So many great callouts and foreshadowing in the dialogue. I also love so many of the minor characters. NASA administrator Thomas Paine (ginger with glasses) is hilarious. He’s a scene stealer every time he’s on the camera.
Glad I managed to push thru the slow parts of season 3 after watching first few mins of S4E1 and realizing I was missing important context. The last scene of the S3 finale was a helluva twist.

It's never a good thing when Swan Lake is playing in the USSR. Gorbachev clearly died but I wonder if it was part of a coup to bring the USSR back to it's traditions since it didn't seem like everyone was a fan of Glasnost.
I even saw some speculation based on the news clips between seasons that maybe they had a version of our 9/11 with some involvement from China.
