The subreddit is complaining about essentially every crowd. Those people complaining are going weekend 2. They will have a great time, then come back to the sub and say “the vibes are better weekend 2,” when in reality the crowds are very similar (I say as someone who did W2 2012, W1 through 2019, then W2 last year and this year). The only difference is that W2 people watch the livestream, and W1 people don’t (or haven’t been able to til this year). Sigh.
okay so the burning questions are does blink return and does metro bring everyone out again. i didn't watch but if it was heroes & villains heavy then he has to right???

That was a cool day 1. I liked all the stuff we watched a lot. Gorillaz, Chemical Brothers, Pusha T, Tobe, Blondie, Yves, Teo? was alright. I’d have liked to have seen more of The Comet Is Coming and Domi and JD Beck’s sets. Maybe weekend 2? Kinda bugging D&JDB drop off the Fall Polyphia tour one show before I get my two nights. She’s a solid keyboardist, and you can’t argue with JD’s drumming abilities at 19. He’ll be around for a while. I probably watched more today than last year combined days.
In person, Metro's set was sick af, the whole presentation with the live instruments and the crowd energy was great Will say he didn't play a lot of his biggest songs but there was no way to fit them all in a 50 minute set. Was hoping for Migos (understandably absent), Post Malone, Drake songs. Pulling Weeknd to do like 5 songs was a power move though. And Diddy, John Legend with the intro, Mike Dean on keys
Admittedly, I’m not watching this set. I’m saving it for next weekend. But: this happens constantly with live streams. Complaining about crowds unless you were in that crowd annoys me.
i was in that crowd and it was a drag, amazing show though
Yup, Blondie turns 78 in July. Wonder where she stands on the “oldest Coachella performer list”? History lesson for some of the crowd that are 60+ years younger.
Did someone ask for vaguely correct facts done with 10 mins on Google? Short answer she seems to be oldest at 77.
Some others: Sir Paul 68, Sly Stone 68, Willie Nelson 75, Lemmy 70, Bobby Womack 66, Lou Reed 72 if he didnt cancel, Lee Scratch Perry 75, Bryan Ferry 70, Danny Elfman 68 and David Byrne 65.
I think she also beats all the Desert Trip and Power Trips acts. Stagecoach had acts like Earl Scruggs at 85 and Ray Price 84. Also impressive was Clint Eastwood attending with his daughters in his early 80s.
The aspect that dropped my jaw about the Blondie set was Backfired which might be the global live debut from her 1981 solo album.
Good morning from the east coast Couchellans! This old man couldn’t stay up all night for the headliners, but this rewind thing is the greatest advance EVER in free festival streaming!
On the menu this morning: Bagels ‘n Bunny, Gorillaz n’ Granola!
Random crowd story: First time I saw Chemical Brothers was at APE. Right before they go on, it starts raining hard so everyone gets to cover. Told it’ll be delayed until the rain clears. As of now, everyone is hyped up on anticipation and lots of drugs. Rain clears up and they immediately go on. The crowd that didn’t leave entirely is damn near euphoric when they start. One of the most hyped crowds I’ve ever been apart of.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

as of now, there's just a big gap on the mojave stream during his set.
Even when the man finally emerges he remains elusive lol. Pretty surprised though, I wonder if he wants to get a set under his belt and will stream it W2?

I thought Gorillaz were good last night, but I’m watching the replay this morning…I undersold it, it was pretty fucking incredible. I feel bad knowing I missed out on the last two tours and haven’t seen them since Plastic Beach.
