You guys are so funny for thinking burial will perform
Like Jai Paul? Like Sault?
SAULT had teased playing live a few times and only came out around 2019. Plus some of the members have played live elsewhere. Plus they still haven’t played.
Jai Paul was a freak thing, and expecting it to be replicated is the funny part. I’m pretty sure Burial has stated in interviews he’s not interested. He’s been around longer than Jai or SAULT.
Thought it would be mentioned Sault doing London shows next year
I thought you all were just wishful thinking with the Sault mocks but looks loke there is truth to the rumors. Although it sounds like the London shows might actually be in December
SZA is 50/50 imo. Wouldn’t be surprised if she’s headlining, but she’s not exactly known for her live performances.
I don’t see Dua as a sub but I don’t see her as a headliner either, only because her recent single is doing terribly in the US and it’s been too long since her last record. It would be a gamble for sure, and possibly a premature headline offer if her career takes a Kylie Minogue trajectory.
Fred again as a headliner maybe? Or a strong sub.
Tyler, the Creator would 100% not accept a sub-headliner offer knowing his ego, but it would be a weaker headliner and I don’t know if he’s elusive enough to move tickets. I could see a Tyler + Lana returning to the desert.
Dua’s recent single fell out of the top 50 on US Spotify in a week and didn’t even chart on Apple Music. She just doesn’t scream “headliner” in the US in my opinion, especially right now.
I mean floor seats for the Future Nostalgia show were going for <$100 the day before the show.
Olivia would be a more fitting pop headliner. Her last record sold 300k in its first week and her tour sold out instantaneously.
made an account just to say you are hilariously out of touch lol

Dua is still really popular (especially globally), but I don't think it's the worst take to say Olivia is more popular in America at this moment in time
I think the two that are unrealistic is Major Laser being that low and SZA not being a headliner. Almost would switch SZA and Lana. But Justice, MGMT, and The Kinks would be insane gets!

I mean sure, but that’s mostly because Future Nostalgia came out nearly 4 years ago. Houdini is doing well though so if Dua’s new album continues that it’s still her.

Major Lazer was billed under both Jai Paul and Underworld at Portola this year, and both Jai and Underworld wound up on the bottom of the 2nd line of the poster this year. I think the spot I have Major Lazer in now makes a lot of sense.
My next mock (which I might make soon) will probably have SZA headlining, Lana subbing and Tyler in the RTTD slot.

I know we have a small sample size but RTTD seems geared towards EDM acts. I'd expect Justice or Pretty Lights off that mock (especially given their respective hiatuses) vs. LDR or DM

Yeah I agree, and I think the simplicity of the stage set up is part of the deal... Although SHM ridiculous giant ring took for fucking ever to set up... I wonder if it would have made an appearance if they stayed RTTD.
But because of that I question a full Justice production cause they are so technical?
So what, you guys think they're going to put Justice or Pretty Lights as one of the last acts on the main? Really?
No but could be a bigger EDM name we havent mentioned yet. Or RTTD act could headline Sahara. I was just saying I think Lana or Depeche Mode would be listed on the day they are playing rather than at the bottom.
Although it doesn't really matter how household of EDM name you are, it will draw a big crowd after dark, because that's what most of the people want (see Chris Lake/Fisher's headliner sized crowd at the Outdoor this year)
