If we want to play the “headliner picks their opener” game who would we peg for the Stones? Wouldn’t hate if they got the Strokes
Zach Bryan would be cool though not sure he’d take anything less than headliner, maybe he’d make an exception if he’d be opening for the Stones.
I could see The Killers in that spot too. Would be ironic with their latest releases (Hackney Diamonds/Rebel Diamonds).
Zach Bryan is playing two arena shows where I live and the cheapest resale ticket is about $450. I honestly can’t believe the demand for his tour. I can’t imagine him taking less than a headliner.
Stones are in that McCartney tier, objectively great headliner but also a band where after I saw them once was set for the rest of my life.
This is definitely the case for both, but I’ve never seen the Stones and I’m not shelling out the money for the kind of seat I’d want so I’m really pumped about the prospect of them headlining.

if you dislike RHCP for misogyny/pedophilia reasons you have to hold the stones to that standard. You can't pick and choose. And if being able to fly to Coachella every year without question isnt privileged idk what is. I'm clearly just not in the economic bracket to enjoy music the right way, aren't I?

The Stones were boring as hell at Desert Trip and got upstaged by Bob Dylan. I did get to see The Stones at Sofi in 2021 on the 60th Anniversary of Mick and Keith meeting on the train platform to start the band. Now that show was incredible - seemed liked they put some extra effort into the performance due to the occasion.

Dylan was waaaayy better than the Stones at Desert Trip. He had the second best show of the weekend behind Roger Waters.

you’ve got to be kidding me? Obviously it’s all preference, but he is a boring corpse at this point. Enjoyed his performance, but in no way that was close to the Stones
Dylan at Desert Trip was rough, and for such a huge venue, barely showing him on the screen was a very distancing choice. The Stones were in the middle at Desert Trip, Mick was killing it, but Keith was iffy. Would still be fun to see them at Coachella though.

Yeah, this time last year we had a ton of rumors (most of which were false). It seems eerily quiet this year on the rumor front. Don't know if that's a good or bad thing.
