Maybe a bad take, but I don't think The Rolling Stones - Lana Del Rey - Dua Lipa moves the needle significantly more than Tyler the Creator - Lana Del Rey - Dua Lipa for the majority of Coachella's audience.

Coachella is built on the feeling of doing things rarer, larger, first, etc
If the most appealing part of the headliner trio is Dua Lipa’s first show from a new era (when she’s still remained fairly visible) vs The Rolling Stones’ first and only ever US festival showing to the current major’s, that’s pretty big drop off even if they’ll sell out this year

Even with today’s Coachella audience, still think the Stones moves more tickets than Tyler.

Coachella needs to get the stones to restore credibility. For many years the festival has become a laughing stock , being labeled more of an instagram festival rather than a music festival . With the stones as headliners , Coachella will finally restore its credibility. Rolling Stones is a must , even if it means dishing out 40 mill over 2 weekends . Macca saved Coachella back in 2009 from going into bankruptcy, now in 2024 it’s the stones turn to save Coachella from being label a circus festival
Wouldn’t be too surprising if true. I do think Dua, Lana, Tyler is still a good trio and I think could lend to a strong undercard. Where are you seeing this info though? Has the leaker been reliable in the past?
As much as I like Dua, Lana and Tyler, I think that would be a pretty weak trio, possibly among the weakest Coachella has ever had. Needs some oomph with a bigger name to round it out.
Each headliner is fine in a vacuum, but Dua would probably be the smallest "#1 act" and it would be the first year I think two borderline promotions both broke from sub to headliner

Tame and Gambino were both pretty borderline. I know that wasn't GV's preferred outcome in 2019, but Dua/Tyler/Lana probably isn't their first choice this year either.

Yeah I enjoy each of those acts, but it’s a very boring headliner trio IMO.
Undercard will be stacked if those are the headliners.
Would have to be shades of 2013 which oddly enough was the year they had The Stones, lost em and had arguably the most stacked line up theyve ever booked.
