I'm thinking at or before 10am tomorrow. Releasing it toward the end of the work day west coast time just shaves off another day people will be talking about it.

Does everyone here prefer weekend 1 or weekend 2? and why?
I’ve only gone W2. I like to be able to see who I should skip. It also seems like a lot of the bugs from W1 get ironed out. I’d much rather wait a week and know that the logistics are in order.
What is everyone's controversial opinion on Coachella?
Mine is that the headliners are more important at Coachella than other festivals vs. the collective reasoning that headliners don't matter and undercard is everything. I'd probably just as much like, if not better, a small show at the Fonda or El Rey for an act I like vs. like a 2 PM Sonora spot with 50 people, when you just can't beat the anticipation of a set like Outkast 2014, Beyonce 2018, etc. when you know you are about to witness a major moment where everyone's eyes are peeled on the set you are watching. And if there just isn't a set like that on the headliner line, the lineup becomes less exciting to me.

1) The biggest thing going for Coachella is location. If you strip that away, it's still better than most festivals but the margin is much smaller. I will say that the variety of stages is also one of the distinct features. 2) If Coachella doesn't have another buzz worthy performance to draw in a younger set of eyes soon (ex: Beyonce, Tupac hologram), 5 years from now, they will struggle to move tickets and might be seen as just another festival. That's why I think they need someone like Taylor to play soon. Or one of the "less rare" headliners needs to put on a ridiculous performance.
Only been to weekend 1 once, and the grass statements are overrated. It’s all dead by Saturday anyway
Not all all. Saturday grass is usually still nice. This also depends on the weather the few months leading up to Coachella. The dryer the year, the less the grass will hold up. 2018's grass wasn't great W1 iirc. Last year, SoCal got tons of rain, so the grass was extra lush, and even leaving on Sunday it was in great condition. I think W2 even got to have grass leftover.

I hate surprises, so one of my favorite parts about going to weekend 2 is sitting my ass in front of the TV for weekend 1 and plotting out my schedule with help from the live stream. Also the anxiety of the weekend 1 schedule release is just too much.
