Wonder if they have a couple big acts shared w Coachella, just don’t know who that’d be tho
When does Coachella release their lineup? I don’t know what acts would be that big of a “surprise” though.
Coachella is usually first week of January. I really don't know who would potentially share Shaky/Coachella. I feel like it'd have to be a tweener headliner. Someone who'd headline Shaky but not Coachella. Maybe Vampire Weekend? Or maybe a combo like VW and Noah Kahan.

I don’t know if Shaky has the luxury of waiting that long to release a lineup. I know last year was a sell out, but, I’d think a lot of music festival goers would like to have a plan earlier than that, and may go elsewhere if they like the lineup. Maybe that’s just me though.

Trying to remember of any precedent. In 2018, I know they shared David Byrne and Greta Van Fleet. Did the Shaky lineup come out first and have both of those on the initial lineup?

Shaky came 2nd. Coachella was January 3, Shaky was January 8
Coachella generally has a clause in artist contracts that they can’t announce any other festivals before Coachella. Which in essence means other festivals can’t announce until Coachella does. There’s usually a drop dead date though, and a couple times in recent years Coachella has had headliners drop out last minute, delaying the lineup, and allowing other fests to release first.

I'm having trouble imaging Coachella and SK sharing a main headliner outside of someone like RATM or Pearl Jam (RHCP and Blur already mentioned, and I'm not buying Blur for either). Does Coachella even book rock headliners anymore?

I agree. I can’t imagine they’re holding back a lineup release for RHCP. It would need to be a rarer act.

I feel like a RCHP or Rage HL would be exactly what’s keeping it back if that’s what’s happening

Yeah I would think Rage and Blur are really the only two that would do both. Damon has done Coachella in some capacity the last two years. I dont think they got either though.
The Stones alone are prob double Shaky’s entire budget
It was a devil's advocate type question. I get it would skyrocket ticket prices and kill the rest of the lineup, which would suck since that's always been the heart of Shaky anyway.
