Any SK alum here that have also done Boston Calling? What's the vibe like, how does it compare to SK? I know they often have some lineup overlap but we will most likely be in the northeast next May and are seriously considering it.
I live an hour from Boston. BC is fine, been a few times. SK is better though. This year I skipped BC and went to SK.

I literally had this site open from last night with a comment ready to say I had a conspiracy that we got Metallica because the actors of Stranger Things attend Shaky Knees a good bit and it’s filmed there. And this post confirms it. I wish I posted last night haha.
Any chance we’re sleeping on Ghost as potential headliner? I didn’t see ATL on the 2023 tour list, they are on the Grammy list, and based on what I saw in Nashville they pulled a better crowd than QOTSA at the same venue (with even higher ticket prices).

feels more in the realm of unlikely like Lana and Billy Strings. It would be interesting of a booking that’s for sure. Maybe they sub?

they’ve played before but I just don’t see it happening

Not enough wide appeal at all, definitely not gonna be a headliner

I’m not trying to argue for them here or anything but also have no idea how to measure ‘wide appeal’. They have almost 10m monthly Spotify listeners. That more than NiN, MMJ, and boygenius combined, not that I’m sure anyone is seriously arguing boygenius as a headliner. It’s also more than QOTSA by about 2m.

ok so headliner possibilities that are definitely large enough to headline based on the Grammy hint: - Metallica - Paramore (European tour with Taylor Swift starts May 9th) - Arctic Monkeys (were in ATL in September) - Foo Fighters (were headliners in 2022) - Gorillaz - Depeche Mode (were in ATL in October)
maybe headliner possibilities based on the Grammy hint but also could be a subheadliner: - Noah Kahan (no ATL date on spring tour) - boygenius (were in ATL in June) - QotSA (highly likely they will be there already, lineup placement tbd)
possibilities based on the ST meme: - Metallica - Maya Hawke - Djo - The Aubreys
