On Ed Sheeran's website, it shows that his Bottlerock day is the 26th, so if we get him it will be the 24th. Better to get it out of the way first, I guess.
Shoot, I'd always rather get the headliner of greatest interest to me on Friday, since my energy will be waning by Sunday night, and I'm sure hoping that there's at least one headliner that I want to see more than Ed Sheeran.
also its very funny that all these festivals decided to drop their lineups today and Coachella is once again going to release theirs this afternoon and just bury all of them in the news cycle yet again
Is there anyone else dropping asides from Bonnaroo and Boston Calling? I've been out of the loop.

Feels like my expectations are pretty low at this point, I just don’t see a lot of names being talked about in the festival space that get me really excited.
Kinda expecting the initial reaction will be poor but it will be a line up that pulls a more general/average concert goer. No way the crowd/sales from Sat last year didn’t get the promoters eye. So here’s hoping there’s some gems in the rough!

Then again- of course not many acts do it- but The Killers did Friday BC and Saturday Bottlerock so it's not out of the question he does Saturday, even if that would be strange.
The Killers have a hustle that other tip line acts don't have. So I would expect that from Ed Sheeran

If Ed Sheeran is headlining one of the three days, they'll probably sell out of one-day passes for that day almost immediately...and there will be a literal ton of people getting there and planting themselves in front of the Green Stage as soon as the gates open, to be front and center.
As for my expectations, regardless of positioning on the poster, I know that Hozier and Tyler Childers are going to make this worthwhile for me. I just want a few more artists that I now like-to-love, and a few more that I'm curious about or will end up enjoying for an hour, even if I don't have any great desire afterwards to see them again or listen to an album (see Genesis Owusu).

Yeah, I always look at the lineup as a way to broaden my listening and to get a few new names into my rotation, but still need a few solid acts to justify the buy in. Hozier would definitely be one, would love to see Cage the Elephant back too as I have seen their name floating around a bit.
i know “major fest” isn’t really the best way to describe boston calling but i’ll use it anyways. never thought i’d see the red clay strays and tanner usrey on the second line of their day at a major fest.

its so funny how people still dont understand the whole "its a livenation festival" thing. Megan the Stallion makes zero sense on here but she's booked to the LN festival roster for this cycle, so there you go.
If anything, they could have at least had Khruangbin and Leon Bridges on the same day so they could do some of their collab songs. Just a massive L of a lineup.
