The Cure * Tyler Childers * Billie Eilish or Stevie Nicks

Not only LN but C3 approved too, played ACL 2019. Still not going to get my hopes up but I would be so happy if they played, I skipped their show this year for financial reasons and also cause Xfinity center sucks

I went to the Mansfield show this summer and they were so good. Robert Smith sounded 40 years younger. Would love them at BC and if they finally release their new album early next year, they could be in play.

my concern is they’ll just ignore a festival with a 11 pm curfew because they can’t play over 2 hours

They played Lolla with a 10p curfew in 2013 and made it work with 2 hours, even though they were doing long ass sets everywhere else. I think they did 50 songs in Mexico City around the same time. Made the 2 hour set and curfew work at ACL in 2019 as well. I'm just trying to remain hopeful for more east coast dates either way, but they would get me back to BC with a decent undercard, and it would be an easy sell with Mrs. Fitter Happier because she loves them.
Think there's a strong chance that The Gaslight Anthem will be on the undercard. Haven't played in Boston since October of 2022, skipped Boston during their east coast leg in 2023 (will be in NJ at the end of this month and NYC early December), and are free in May in-between their European shows that end in March and 3 Euro fests in June/July.
Friday May 24 Fall Out Boy Maggie Rogers - Jimmy Eat World - Primus (Blue Closer) - The Gaslight Anthem - Meet Me @ The Altar - Osees - KennyHoopla - Hot Mulligan - Guerilla Toss
Saturday May 25 Tyler Childers - Hozier Lord Huron - Thundercat (Blue Closer) - Sharon Van Etten - Margo Price - Guster - Alex G - Madison Cunningham - Yaya Bey
Sunday May 26 The Cure Sleep Token - Blondie - Sylvan Esso (Blue Closer) - Slowdive - Dinosaur Jr. - Fishbone - Model/Actriz - Palehound - Speedy Ortiz
Was going to make this into a full mock poster but realized I don't have enough knowledge of the 20+ local bands they book. Tried to pull from recent LN bookings in Boston, C3 fests, and a little bit of WWWY and Sick New World

pretty uninspiring outside the cure but that’s about what I expect anyways

It was too tempting to predict something too exciting. Almost put Death Grips, Labyrinth, and Duster in but didn't. Even Model/Actriz is kind of pushing it

I'd be beyond happy if this turned out to be the lineup.
Purely out of personal preference, I'd swap out Guided By Voices or The Hold Steady for Dinosaur, Jr., but even with Dino, I'd have few complaints about this (other than having to miss Thundercat due to the conflict with Hozier.)
Also, I'm assuming that the Sunday order would be different on the poster, to maintain as many female-fronted artists as possible in the top six. Given that I had to Google Sleep Token to see who they are (sounds weird and interesting), putting Sylvan Esso or Blondie into the #2 spot is a better look for the festival. Also, I'd expect a couple of Americana/Roots performers of color in the mix, like Allison Russell, Adia Victoria, Yola, and Devon Gilfillian.

If Tyler Childers headlining comes to fruition, I'd expect Allison Russell to be on his day, as she is opening for him in Baltimore on the 27th. You could possibly also have Valerie June (would love her at BC), as she is opening for Tyler beginning in June and doesn't have a Boston/MA stop during her east coast dates in November.

A different female-fronted potential red stage closer that would segue well into the Cure actually came to mind for me recently, but I can't remember who it was. Sleep Token I actually don't like at all but they fit the mold of BC prematurely bumping a newer popular band to red closer (Greta van Fleet, Odezsa, Rufus). They might actually work better as a red stage closer on a FOB day than a Cure one
Alternatively, I could see Lana Del Rey headlining but I don't think they'd book both her and The Cure

Boygenius? I could see them either headlining or closing Red. BC had Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus in successive years and Phoebe Bridgers was on the 2020 lineup, why not bring the collective?
With this year being the first full C3/LN curation (do we know if any of the Crash Line staff stayed on?) and many headline worthy acts either not announcing tours yet/not touring/already playing Boston, I'm at a loss for who would be in for 2024 headliners.
Has it been confirmed that one of the reasons Crash Line sold to LN because 2022 was such a shitshow, or was one being right after the other coincidental?

Coincidental, probably. 2022 was an unfortunate series of events.

Did Crash Line actually sell its share, or was the sale only of the slight majority ownership held by MSG Company?
High Water Festival just released their 2024 lineup and given that it's also a C3 co-production and has had overlap over the years (Bleachers (BC 2023) and Oliver Peck (BC 2022) in 2023, Modest Mouse and Black Pumas in 2022), I think it's safe to say that one or more of their acts will be at BC.
Noah Kahan, The Walkmen, Flaming Lips and The Linda Lindas are obviously out, but -
Fleet Foxes Courtney Barnett Hozier
I'd be happy with any or all.
Also, Greta Van Fleet just announced a Spring tour that ends in Milwaukee 3 days before BC starts, but given they were just here in September I'd like to believe/hope they would not be back so soon. However, they have played in the past, so who knows.
